Dougal

Dougal is one of the first fourth-generation labradoodles in the UK. Born on 21st May 1999 to a black labradoodle dam and a champagne labradoodle sire.

For anyone unaware, a labradoodle is a cross between a Labrador and a Standard (not Toy!) Poodle. Originally bred as guide dogs (with mixed success) in Australia, they are hard to come by but becoming increasingly popular. While not yet recognised as a KC breed they are nonetheless noted for their successful combination of the positive aspects of each breed - the stockier build and docile temperament of the labrador mixed with the non-shedding, virtually odour-free coat and intelligent, sporty nature of the poodle.
