Re: Doggy daycare Norfolk

Hi We live on the N Norfolk coast. We use a home boarder for Mundesley, I don’t know if she does day care but it’s worth a try if you are in the Cromer area. Her name is Suzanne Augood and she runs Perfect for Pooches. Started a few years ago when she did the Home boarding, but it took off to such a...

Re: Flatulent Boy! Advice Needed

Mundesley had exactly the same problems! I was forever finding damp patches on the rug or carpet where he had been licking his feet (Ugh). He also had very scaly skin, a bit like cradle cap on a baby. Switched him onto Wainwrights grain free food and it all changed for the better. You also have to g...

Re: Doodle Seizures

Right - this may be way off the mark but here goes. You mentioned that he always has his seizures in the morning after vomiting bile. Now I have always though that vomiting bile could be a sign of hunger. Now the next bit - I am insulin dependent diabetic and luckily have never had a hypo. However, ...

Re: Grass and bones

I often think Mundesley has been crossed with a cow, the amount of grass he chews!! Especially long, green, juicy bits! He has also been known to have a chew at wheat growing! Sadly Muns does not have many bones as he gets super protective and really means the growls I am sure. I discovered antlers ...

Re: What's in a name?

Mundesley is named after a village in N Norfolk that we frequent on a regular basis (More regular now we have moved here :) ) We always said that if we had another Doodle we would call him Trunch, which is the next village inland! Mundesley does get shortened to Muns though! It all stemmed from my g...

Re: Kennel Club Focus Meeting Your views please!

Totally agree with all that Bid says. There can never be a breed standard for these beautiful dogs as they are all so different (except maybe levels of stupidity judging by Mundesley!) which is one of the attractions. Also I have never been a fan of paying huge amounts of money for puppies, and bein...

Re: Norfolk Christmas

The Sea Marge Hotel in OVerstrand i THINK has some dog friendly rooms. It is just down the road from me and we have eaten there a couple of times and its good. Think its a bit expensive to stay, but there again it will be being Christmas you are after. Overstrand has its own beach, which you can tak...

Bolshie dog!

I have a problem with Mundesley which has been becoming a nuisance over the past few months and is beginning to worry me. Before we moved to N Norfolk, he was mainly walked in the local park, both on and off the lead. He had several doggie friends as we all walked at the same time. He had an on/off ...

Re: help! advice on dog flatulence please

Had the same problem!! Mundesley has Wainwrights too. I changed him to their grain free variety and also slightly cut down the amount he eats. (Twice a day about 2/3 of one of those cups from Pets at Home) and this seemed to help. Don't know whether it was the amount or the grain free that solved th...

Re: Doggy mischief!

Mundesleys finest trick was when he was (surprisingly) about 10 months old. No problems when he was small, housetrained very quickly, didnt howl at night etc etc. Soooo when I had to go shopping etc he was left with the run of the downstairs. I came back, opened the lounge door and was NOT met by a ...

Re: Life's a beach.

We are very lucky as we took the decision to move to the N Norfolk coast in March, having weekended and holidayed for almost 8 years. Mundesley goes onto the beach 2 or 3 times a week depending on tides and his excitement doesn't change! He has always known when he is going to the beach, as opposed ...

Re: Thinking of getting our dog neutered

We had Mundesley done when he was just 2. He hadn't shown any signs of anything untoward, really it was just pressure from the vet nurse about avoiding testicular/prostate cancer. He has changed in that he is now scared of things that didn't bother him before, so I think it caused him to loose a bit...

We too are moving!! Must be something in the air! We are off to Norfolk from Northamptonshire into what was our "weekend and school holidays" retreat!! It was always meant for our (my) retirement but hubby got the chance of a job move so we have jumped now!!! The problem we have had is selling furni...
