Re: F1 ? F4 ?

Oh, I would say Beamish is F4 or an F3bb!

Whatever they all are, I would agree with Oscar2011 - they are all cute (and totally bonkers!!!).

Re: F1 ? F4 ?

Thanks. I didn't realise the F1 bit referred to hybrids.

So can I confirm then an F3b mated to a poodle produces F1 pups and not F4b pups? (I thought the generations kept going up and couldn't go back down).

Re: F1 ? F4 ?

I forgot to ask .... Why does two backcrosses make a dog go back to being F1? I think I read somewhere (years ago) that Australian labradoodles were allowed a maximum of 2 backcrosses in the first 5 or 6 generations. I don't know if this is or isn't the case for UK labradoodles? Again, I wonder who ...

Re: F1 ? F4 ?

This always gets me confused! I understand F1 + F1 = F2 and so on..... but what I don't really understand is the 'b' bit. What is an F1b + F1b? Is it only F2 and not F3 (even if both dogs are technically second generation already)? And what about the 'b' bit does that get carried over or not? ...

Re: possible megaesophagus

Poor Florrie and poor you. :( I remember reading about it a few years ago. The owner made a kind of baby highchair and the dog sat upright while feeding (I think it was quite a watery diet) and remained there for a good 10 minutes to let the food go down. I will try and find the link and post it on ...

Re: Ill after worming

Did you give the worming tablet after food? If it is given on an empty tummy it can really irritate the stomach. My dog reacted to Drontil so now I give Panacur or Milbemax (sp?) and so far haven't had any problems, so long as they have it with their dinner.

Hope she feels better soon. :)

Re: Lactulose solution

I think you are meant to give a small amount (tablespoon-ish) 3 x a day. It is very gentle on the system.

As said before, if she isn't pooing and is being sick then she needs to be taken to the vets asap as it can be a sign of a blockage.

I hope she is better soon.

Discountpetcare.co.uk

Has anyone noticed that this website has been removed?

I think it has had some bad reviews. I'm now really worried that I have given my dog some dodgy medication.

Re: Jessie (2yrs) started pong in the house overnight - help

I've been told that dogs don't have many taste buds, so what we think would taste disgusting is ok to them! Apparently they go by the smell (or pong!) instead. Have you tried BARF? Dogs who are fed on bones etc have white chalky looking poo which isn't as smelly, so less appealing Is she cra...

I think my girl has got kennel cough :( She had a kennel cough vac about 5 or 6 months ago, but she still got it :( and I'm beginning to think they are a waste of money :( Can anyone recommend what I should do?
