Re: An update on Ianto.... good news/bad news

Hi Anne Sorry to hear about Ianto's woes :( I don't know if it would help in this scenario but I've heard good things about the 'Thundershirt' - it's kind of like a tight jacket which sounds horrible but apparently it's like they're getting a reassuring hug all the time. Also we do have one of those...

How soon to spay?

Hi all Matilda's now 15 months old and has just come into heat for the first time - we want to spay her but the vet said we should wait till after her first season. I've read that it will probably last about 3 weeks, but does anyone know how soon after that we can book her in to be spayed? I was pla...

Re: Second Doodle?

We got Matilda when Ramona was 18 months old and I'm so glad we did - I just love to see them playing together. I agree with what everyone's said about it being hard work and expensive but it has definitely been worth it. Also, in a lot of ways I found the second puppy easier to deal with than the f...

Re: What's the most useful command you've taught your doodle

I too have found 'stay' very useful, particularly for getting the girls to pose for photos!

Re: Proud of a drop it command

Well done Lulu! I had to smile at this - recently I was walking the girls in my sandals. Mona took a big bite of horse poo and I told her to drop it. She spat it out right onto my toes and looked at me very proudly expecting a biscuit

Re: What Harness ???

Our girls have Hunter 'Norwegian racing harnesses' which are very nice, just one fleecy strap around the chest and one around the tummy. They do cause some minor matting but I'm not sure there's any getting around that, unfortunately. http://www.portonaquapet.co.uk/-M56447?gclid=CLLKx9Go6MACFVDItAod...

Re: Dog allowed in bed?

Our girls don't sleep in our bed but they always come up for a cuddle last thing, before being shooed downstairs. This does mean I frequently find slobbery tennis balls under the pillow though, which is a bit gross  I also received a retrieved slipper to the face last night so it can be hazar...

Re: Matilda - the first 10 months (photo heavy)

I know - she seems to have had a recent growth spurt! It's so lovely to see her and Ramona together, they're so sweet and keep each other entertained bouncing around. I will try and get to a doodle meet soon - it's just been a bit hard to motivate myself when every day is a mini doodle meet in our h...

Matilda - the first 10 months (photo heavy)

I finally got round to sorting my photos - here's Matilda's transformation from tiny fluff ball into lovely labradonkey! http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t489/ruthj1981/Mobile%20Uploads/2013-12/E4847E22-9191-426C-BA39-8A9BE96B0615_zpscwtmlbaz.jpg http://i1062.photobucket.com/albums/t489/ruthj1981...

Re: Zymox otic

Hi - I've always used this on Ramona, who gets itchy ears, and it's very good. I find I can tell if she's got a bit of a wax build up as they get a bit smelly.

Re: Doodle Work

Matilda would be a stealth acrobat - she always seems to be either asleep or finding new ways to climb around the garden. Ramona would be a purveyor of offensive stenches, or perhaps a mournful-eyes model

Re: Dog tags

Hi My OH claims it is a legal requirement to include the address as well as a phone number although I did think he might have made this up. We have got ones from Red Dingo and they are really cute and have lasted really well, so I would recommend them. I got Ramona, Mailda and the cat matching ones ...

Puppy food

Hi all Matilda's now 11 weeks old and is currently on James Wellbeloved puppy food, and eating at a frankly terrifying rate. Ramona (who's 2) is on a dry food called Millie's Wolfheart which is fantastic - 70% protein and very high quality, we've been really pleased with it and it's cost-effective i...

Re: Please help- nightimes

I do feel for you - we have an 11 week old pup and she was initially very unsettled at night as well. She had one night when she just literally screamed the whole night, it was awful and I just didn't know what to do for the best. What we did, and I don't know if it was the right thing to do (part o...

New puppy

Hi all Our new puppy (now christened Matilda, but thanks for all the suggestions on my earlier posting about her) arrives on 28th December :D She'll have had her first vaccination but not her second one for a few days and it occurred to me that this might be a problem since we already have Ramona wh...
