Re: crate sores?
Good to hear that the boarder has been fined and may think about what they do in the future but why aren't they being stung/sued for mistreatment of the dogs and just for being unlicensed? Apparently because the boarding side of the business was unlicensed, the licensing authority are unable to tak...

Re: crate sores?
Well we have an outcome from my complaint to the licensing authorities. It turns out the business was not licensed for animal boarding at all. The business owner has been fined (they didn't give me an exact amount, but the fine can be up to £500) and has to apply for a license at the cost of £105! W...

Re: crate sores?
Thanks for all the well wishes! Thought I'd update. Immi is doing well, and is getting there in returning to her usual self. Although she remains a little bit more subdued than normal for her. The sores have scabbed over and are healing, albeit slower than hoped due to her licking. But our vet does ...

Re: crate sores? *pics added*
We visited our vet this morning, who certainly believes these are pressure sores. Thankfully there is no infection and the damage is restricted to the upper layers of skin. We have some steroid and antibiotic cream to apply twice daily. All being well she'll heal up within a couple of weeks. I've at...

Re: crate sores?
Liz, I absolutely agree, it is outrageous. I took photos as soon as I saw the sores, and will get her to the vet tomorrow morning. I'll take whatever action he deems necessary and appropriate. At the very least I will be having harsh words with the business owner and request that she cover veterinar...

crate sores?
Hi folks, been a while since I last posted, hope everyone's doing ok. We've just got home from four nights at Center Parcs, and picked Immi up from a doggy daycare/home-boarding place just outside our village. There are a few things that have occurred which I am very unhappy about, and would like to...

Re: Claw Clipping
Yeah, you are spot on there Bid, it's a vicious cycle. The quick extending to supply blood further down the claw as it grows etc. I've seen some really severe cases in rescues :( I know the key to shortening quicks is regular minor clipping. We were hoping that by having them clipped back under anae...

Claw Clipping
We are having problems with Immi's claws again. She has a massive phobia of having them clipped, filed or touched in any way. The only time we've been able to have them clipped as an adult is under anaesthetic. When she was a pup she let me do it regularly, but when we had to get a new clipper becau...

Re: I could cry!
Will all doods need clipped  ? I think it might break my heart if they cut Sam's locks. He's pretty short haired with a trouble free coat at the moment, though his beard and eyebrows are getting bushier. Photo below is him now at 18 ish weeks. My Immi's coat was like Sam's at that age, and ha...

Lovely pics! Your Doodle is the spitting image of our Immi, and she loves those same human-style hugs too!

Re: chicken-pox buddies
Thanks for the well wishes, although he seems to be under the impression that he is on holiday with his very own slave!
Immi is loving the extra cuddles and doesn't seem to mind missing out on her usual daytime walk. Normally she will harass my walking boots until I take her out!

Re: My puppy doesn;t love me - is it a teenager thing
I suspect that dogs like this are very secure psychologically, and have utter faith in their owners love and devotion to them. Take it as a compliment rather than a snub. :D We used to have a rough collie who didn't like too much physical contact. She adored being with us, sitting by our feet or str...

Re: Dicky tummy
I've found mashed potato to be more effective than rice, mixed with coked chicken breast. Immi won't tolerate being starved, she gets quite distressed, so I feed little and often when she has an upset tummy.

Re: My Kobi has not been himself
I've had to manually remove socks from immi's rear passage when they've got stuck on the way out... But her favourite snacks are used wetwipes, tissues and mucky cat litter
