With such a lovely coat I would leave it; just keep on top of the grooming. Such a handsome boy!!

Re: Felix my special pussy cat

Oh Sue, I am so very sorry to hear about Felix. He chose the right house when he walked into your lives. They are very clever at choosing their humans. This reminds me so much of my darling Tom cat who could only eat prawns and his catmint towards the end as he had either an ulcer or a cancer in his...

Re: Ticks eeeewwwwwwwwww!!!

Advantix is supposed to cover for ticks; advocate doesn't. Yucky horrible things! Charlie had his first tick a while ago; right under his eye... I only saw it as I was bathing him and wondered what the lump under is eye was... It was so covered in hair it hadn't been visible before. He was left with...

Re: Car crash

What a horrible thing to have happened! So Thankful you are all in one piece. Accidents happen so very quickly, don't they. At least your car protected you... Sounds as though it did it's job.

Re: Glands of the private kind...

Thanks, Anne. It is interesting nonetheless, and stored now in my dossiary of information from Bid, along with limber tail and lord knows what else! I have some hibiscrub here, and a precautionary wash with it would do no harm I am sure.

Re: Glands of the private kind...

Ah. Glad Charlie is nutless! These dogs are a worry, aren't they! He isn't smelling this evening so it may be that it was glands but the bones sorted him out. Thank you for answering my queries! The neighbour's dog was bum scooting and she had v full glands when the vet saw her. I guess anything itc...

Re: Glands of the private kind...

Hi. Anne, has Ianto ever bum scooted or gnawed at his tail? Just wondering how I would know if Charlie's slight bald patch on his tail is a sign that he might be itching at his bottom area... Though he has never bum scooted...

Re: Phoebe's first fight!

Oh yes indeed! Some people really shouldn't be parents!! I have had this situation with Charlie over a ball. He gets really possessive if he and another dog arrive at it at the same time, but this only caused a problem once when an owner with a rescue collie threw the ball for her dog whilst mine wa...

Re: Glands of the private kind...

I watched a very interesting you tube clip on expressing anal glands... In fact I watched two or three (weirdo), but the one which resonated with me was the lady who was basically saying that unless your dog definitely has an issue with its anal glands, do not under any circumstances get them expres...

Re: My poorly Ozzy :(

Sorry to say this, but take a stool sample with you! Yellow poop sounds to me like a sign of infection... Though I'm no vet... My Charlie has had this twice... Jelly like poo, getting so that after a few hours it is just blood. The vet said that he had prob picked up something from sniffing another ...

Re: Lulu is not talking to me!

A great tip I saw on another site was to teach your dog to catch treats. Then, when they are v good at this, you can throw a couple of treats, then in theory throw the tablet / pill and they will automatically swallow if they are greedy dogs. Then of course a couple more treats to follow. I have not...
