East Midlands Doodle meet this Sunday 12th October

Hi all, I recently joined the East Midlands Doodles Facebook page and there is a doodle walk arranged for this Sunday morning at Elvaston castle at 10.30, usual meet near the car park I think. I couldn't see it posted here so thought I'd spread the word x

Looks like you had a fab time - such a shame to miss this one but we were away and as Millie is in the middle of her first season we wouldn't have been able to come anyway. Will definitely be looking out for the next one.

Re: Strange lump

You would be able to tell if it was a tick. It looks to me more like a wart type lump - I know dogs can get sebaceous (spell?) lumps from blocked oil glands I think. It could be something like that? But I'm no vet so it might be worth a trip to the professionals

Oh no, poor Jasper, poor you :( wish there was something more that could be done to help him. This is a good place to vent though whenever you need to :)

Re: Picked our pup

Hi newtodogs, how exciting. It's like waiting for a thousand Christmas's  Your plans seem to echo our intentions when we picked Millie last year and I can honestly say we are absolutely delighted with how its worked out. I read loads of advice on here and in some good books (gwen bailey's) as a...

Re: Shock at the vets

We have been told (although I can't remember where  ) that the dogs ribs should feel similar to when you brush over the knuckles of your open hand, if they feel like your knuckles when you make a fist then they're too thin, if they feel like the palm side of your knuckles they are too fat. I f...

Re: Today's East Midland meet at Elvaston Castle...

Fab photos, thank you Anne. They certainly did get muddy but it was a lovely day for a walk. Millie enjoyed a good bath when we got home, her colouring really hides the mud well  :D
Hope to see you all again at the next one.

Re: Baby doodle going inside A LOT

I can vouch for the bells too. Millie never 'asked' to be let out so we thought we would give it a go, it took her just a day to work it out and she was only 4 or 5 months old at the time. It works really well as we can take it with us when we all visit friends overnight and that way it's easy for h...

Re: Baby doodle going inside A LOT

Hi, are you using a carpet/floor cleaner specifically to remove the scent his wee will leave behind? Dogs/pups will, apparently, want to go where they can smell that they've been before, I've heard a few dog owners say their pup didn't stop going inside until the floors had been thoroughly cleaned t...

Oh he's absolutely gorgeous and feel free to brag away it's difficult not to when we all love our doodles so much. Re: Snobbery

Snobbery exists in all walks of life so the dog world would be no different but I also think its easy to take offence sometimes when perhaps it was not intended. I am always putting my foot in it in all sorts of situations  saying the wrong thing is my forte   Our gorgeous dogs come ...
