Re: Aggressive to kids

Thank you for the replies. We have had her from a puppy and the children have never hurt her to my knowledge. The only thing that I can identify that might have had an effect on her is the 2 children who live next door climb up and talk over the fence to my son. This seems to wind the dog up and she...

Aggressive to kids

We have a gorgeous 18 month old labradoodle. She is the perfect dog except she has become aggressive towards children coming into our home. She is fine with my own 2 children aged 4 and 6 (will sometimes show her teeth at the youngest but doesn't growl or snap). We have started shutting her in the k...

Re: Possessive with objects

Hi, thank you for your reply. Would you suggest the children exchange the object for a treat or should I do it? Although cookie tries to guard her chosen object she doesn't snarl or snap at me or my husband if we take it away it's just the children. Yesterday she picked my daughters coat to guard so...

Possessive with objects

We have a gorgeous (not biased!) labradoodle who is 5 months. She has started sitting by random objects like a shoe, toy, coat and gets possessive over it. I've also got 2 children aged 2 and 5. When either of them go near Cookie when she has picked something to sit by she snaps at the children. Tod...

Re: New puppy trying to be boss of toddler

Fantastic advice, thank you and all makes a lot of sense. I think Cookie is quite nervous of people from watching her over the last couple of days. I have started reassuring her when we have a visitor and also asked visitors to leave her alone when she is in her bed until she approaches them. After ...

Re: New puppy trying to be boss of toddler

Thanks for the fantastic advice. I was wondering if it was more that she was scared than trying to be dominant. I've noticed a couple of times that when something has spooked her, like our blinds being shut! She gives a little growl, bark and then darts off. As the children are a bit nervous of her ...

New puppy trying to be boss of toddler

We have just brought a puppy, she has been with us for 3 days now and is 9 weeks old. We have been looking to get one since November and finally found our perfect addition to our family! She is absolutely gorgeous! However my 2 year old is quite nervous of her at the moment. I thought this was quite...
