Re: My sweet boy Mac died tonight

So sorry to hear this there is no thing as "just" a cat/dog even hamster. The grief we feel is a reflection of our love for them and is the price we pay.

I'm glad he wasn't poisoned, at least that means you don't have to worry about your other pets.

Hugs

Re: To pluck or not to pluck?

Thanks. I have a real aversion to causing my dog pain so I'm very worried about it. Plucking eyebrows is not a good comparison for me though as I have severe facial pain!! ;) I don't pull my horses mane either. But if it's a choice of that or constant ear infections, of course I will do it. I think ...

To pluck or not to pluck?

Hi all, sorry I don't post much, I'm more a lurker. I have two doodles, one a Labradoodle Alfie and Felix a three quarter miniature poodle cross miniature schnouzer. He has the most hairy ears! Alfie does not. Felix is only 5 1/2 months old and he's already had three vets visits for his ears and ano...

Re: Hands up if you cried

After seeing the programme I left my camera recording last night when my dad and I went to a concert leaving the dogs alone.

Very boring video...the only exciting (!) bit was when Ellie moved to my chair and scrabbled all my cushions off. Something she does routinely....

Re: Hands up if you cried

It was very sad :( What disturbed me slightly was the dog who had another dog with it yet still displayed separation anxiety. I had always thought that two or more dogs would be happier on their own than one dog..... My two are usually fine on their own. They sleep most of the time. We have trained ...

Re: Feeding regime for 4 month doodle?

My doodle is 4 and still gets 3 meals a day. He was weaned down to two ok, but was having gut issues, we changed to a sensitive formulation and he was ok, but then he started throwing up in his mouth every now and again. So I moved him back to 3 meals as it was probably due to excess acid. He's fine...

Re: Lump behind ear in the neck

Really pleased to read how well Poppy is doing, what a saga and worry for such a small thing! I had a friend with a horse who had a similar problem, hers was a bit of tree branch, it did eventually abscess out but it wasn't as spikey and nasty as a grass seed. Horrid things. I hope her recovery is s...

Re: Hi :)

Thanks guys :) Canteron, yep I clicker train. It's been the difference between me keeping the ponies and not. My connie who I've had since a foal (I got ill when he was 3) learnt that I had no physical strength and he could, and did, do whatever he liked when I was leading him. I didnt want to use p...

Hi :)

Hi guys, My name is Niki, I have a 4 yo Labradoodle called Alfie and a lurcher called Ellie. Alfie is a family dog, Ellie is mine, though one of the family! I live with my parents due to a chronic neurological condition, which causes great pain. When I have a bad attack of pain Alfie looks after me,...
