Re: Green gloopy eyes but no infection

Thanks for the replies folks. I do wonder if it is something in the woods where we live that is irritating his eyes as he is prone to rubbing face along grass  Other possibilty i considered was coal. We usually burn just wood but have been using a small amount of coal too. It's a stove not ope...

Green gloopy eyes but no infection

Some of you might remember a while back Jack had what I thought was conjunctivitis. Initially I treated it with Optrex Infected eyes but although eyes were fine during treatment within 7 days of stopping it the green gloop (mostly in morning) was back. He then had a course of fusithalmic and again f...

Re: Humping (Please Help)

My Jack can be a terrible humper although alw ays people never dogs! He isn't overly dominant although comes across fairly confident (deep down i wonder if he is a bit of a woose!)
I put his humping down to excitement.

Re: What to do?

Trainer reckons that once dog is past a certain point you sometimes need something to interrupt the behaviour. Obviously she wouldn't recommend something like this for a nervous dog. All I know is it helped Jack. At the training class we go to (not the same trainer as the one to one trainer who uses...

Re: holidays with a puppy

Does she go in a crate in the car? I took my Great Dane on holiday as a young pup. Was a bit stressful because her toilet training took a backwards step in a strange place but was still a really good holiday. We had a car crate for her and she came out on day trips, walked while she could and then s...

Holiday with dogs

I was reading the thread about pros and cons of more than one dog and noticed a couple of people mentioned about the difficulty finding places that you can take more than 1 or 2 dogs on holiday. So I thought I would recommend house swapping to anyone who likes to holiday with their furry friends. We...

Re: What to do?

Jack does this if a human is coming towards him and smiles at him! He too thinks EVERYONE loves him and wants cuddles or a high five which he does with all four feet leaving the ground. He looks like he is taking off like a small aeroplane! Treats don't work even fresh chicken, had a squeeky ball th...

Re: Conjunctivitis

Thanks guys. I did continue with the fusithalmic for days after gunk had gone. Also bathed eyes correctly (im a midwife so pretty confident I bathed them properly no cross contamination between eyes etc) but it came back. Have been washing bedding, halti etc. Prior to the fusithalmic stuff i tried o...

Conjunctivitis

Jack has had gunky eyes in the morning for a few weeks. Inner eyelids look red. Has had some fusithalmic eye drops and I yhought it had cleared as no gunk just a bit red but i thought the inflammation would calm down once infection cleared. So got up this morn and both Jack and wee Wally have gunky ...
