Re: Acid Reflux?
Had a call this afternoon from the vet to say Whisper is allergic to beef, lamb and soya beans. Now all I have to do is find a food he will eat without any of those things in it. He has been on Millie's Wolfheart Countryside mix (containing lamb) I think I will try him on their Salmon one. Murphy's ...

Re: Acid Reflux?
Whisper is fed 4 meals a day too. We have had blood tests done to see if he has allergies that are causing the problem. Not had the results yet. I suspect that it is just an idiosyncracy on his part and that we will end up treating the symptoms - long term zantac or losec. He is well in himself just...

That last line should have read "bald on his tummy" not balcony. I hate predictive text.

Re: Flea treatment irritation
Thanks for the ideas. Is 4fleas a preventative or do you give it only when they have fleas?

Re: Acid Reflux?
Whisper is back home again. Fortunately when the vet put the scope down into his tummy all he could find were some fibres he thought stuffing from a bed or toy - nothing noticed as being chewed or missing. I wonder if it was wool as I have been crocheting recently and he could have easily pilfered t...

Re: Acid Reflux?
Have had Whisper at the vets for a check up and the vet suggested that they did an ultra sound scan and some blood tests. Whisper was booked in for this morning and I have just collected him. They managed the ultra sound without sedation so he is OK just a bit sore where they shaved him. Blood tests...

Re: Flea treatment irritation
Thanks for the reply. I had thought of only treating if they have fleas. My only issue is that when I get Whisper clipped they ask if his flea treatment is up to date. I suppose that if he has been checked and is flea free I could honestly answer yes. The only other time I get asked about that is wh...

Flea treatment irritation
I treated my 2 again last night with their bi monthly flea treatment (fipnil) They have both had a reaction to it over the past 2 applications (mild itching) but last night they were very itchy lots of running round trying to run away from the itch, whining and generally being unsettled. The dogs ra...

Acid Reflux?
Whisper seems to be suffering with acid reflux. He is often a bit sick -frothy bile - (sorry if that is too much info) first thing in the morning especially if I am a bit later getting up. He is grain sensitive. I feed smaller meals 4 times a day. Supper helped a little but he is still sick a couple...

Re: Advice on fla and worming please
Hi, I have 2 two year old Doodle boys. Whisper has quite sensitive skin. I use Fipnil on them and apart from a very small amount of rubbing on the floor (something he does often usually in something smelly!!!) he is fine with it. He couldn't tolerate Advocate at all. I do not worm either of them but...

Re: My names Floyd, and Im a bloater....
I took Echo and Whisper to the vets for a health check and the vet said Whisper had a "solid bottom" and could do with loosing a bit of weight. He then looked at Echo and said "him too" They are miniature and weigh about 16.5 kg I can feel ribs and see a waist on both dogs. They both need clipping s...

Re: I wonder who ??????
Echo is usually the one who steals and when he is spotted he passes it to Whisper who is left holding it when a Hooman arrives. Echo has perfected the "who me" look!

Re: Which Grain Free, hypoallergenic, dry complete food?
Hi Titchytash, Both of my doods are sensitive to grain. I had real problems with them in the first couple of weeks. After trying a few different makes of food they are happily settled on Millie's Wolfheart Countryside mix. They have had that for almost 18 months now and are healthy. They are both fo...

Re: Stout belly
Fortunately my 2 are miniature so can't reach the back of the work surface so I can leave things IF I push them far enough back. They are also partial to digging so much so I have had to level and re seed the lawn this autumn. However they are so affectionate and cute that I forgive them their indis...
