Back after months - had a hectic time lately! Love browsing these forums. In light of the rain today let's see your doodles after they've jumped into muddy puddles :)

Re: 'Proper' dogs...

Our little family has been in the Peak District today, walking on one of the trails... Both our lads were on their leads when we came across two older women walking two small dogs, neither of which were on the lead - and they didn't bother to call them back. One dog passed us with its lip curled an...

Re: Introducing to a crate

Thanks for your reply! The crate I ordered is bloody enormous (I thought it would be much smaller!) Will have a look at your post - sorry for the inactivity lately. So far he doesn't mind his crate too much but isn't the biggest fan.

Re: Harvey not a happy chappy!

Thanks for your kind words! He is still itchy but feeling more himself now. They have ruled out mites and have said blood to be tested. We tried changing to a skin sensitive kibble with no benefit, he is now on a fully hydrolysed diet, let's see how that goes! In the vets defence, I complained at th...

Harvey not a happy chappy!

Not too pleased after being left with the vet and needing to be sedated for skin scrapes and a blood test as he has skin problems and it even led to a mild infection! Luckily he thinks his antibiotics are treats :D

I've mostly had boy dogs because I feel they're more like "bros" and girl dogs are more like "babies"

Introducing to a crate

So Harvey has a "play pen" that I have discovered is not hugely safe as his paws can get trapped in the gaps if he jumps on it. I have contacted the seller and can return it. I regret not going for crate training but the pen essentially became his crate in terms of sleeping and toilet training. For ...

Something important to keep in mind (apologies if someone else has mentioned it already as I just skimmed through the thread again) is if you replace your hand with a toy during nipping to not play with the toy or with Emily. The last thing you want is Emily associating her nipping with getting play...
