Re: Hello

Hello and welcome. You will find so much useful info on this site. My labradoodle is now 3 years old and your message brought back such memories of our first year. Our previous dogs had both been older rescue dogs who both lived long lives, so a decision to get a puppy was a real shock to the system...

Re: First season bleeding duration

Hi there, like Cairo my dog is an F1b miniature labradoodle. She started her first season at about 7months. The bleeding was minimal and only seemed to go on for a week or two. We had just taken her on her first holiday, so not perfect timing :( . She was clingy and obviously we had to be really car...

Re: Please, please don't eat the dandelions

Useful info. Mine doesn't bother with dandelions though plenty around at moment. However the summer weather can bring some unexpected perils! Mine was fascinated with the camellia petals which fell off when she was a puppy and we had countless games of chase trying to get them off her. She ignores t...

Re: New Puppy (12 weeks old)

Forgot to mention, the high energy outbursts are perfectly normal and so is the jumping up and biting the lead. Sounds as if your house training is going well. Sometimes training them in the house can be mentally tiring so short sessions will help tire your puppy out. They sometimes dash round in a ...

Re: New Puppy (12 weeks old)

A new puppy how lovely :D They can be quite demanding when so young! My dog is now 3 and I remember the early days very well  You will find a lot of excellent advice on this site about all kinds of puppy related issues. Like your puppy mine was crate trained and still sleeps in her crate at ni...

Re: Doodle fest

Thank you for that information. I had heard about Doodlefest but didn't know much about it. I assume they change the venue annually? Good to hear this one is fairly centrally located. It is certainly manageable in a day from where we live in the north west. Will put the date in the diary- hopefully ...

Re: Is my labradoodle a toy or a mini?!

Looking very cute and mischievous! Amazing how quickly they grow and develop at this age. The coats are always very unpredictable. Mine has a very curly coat which is definitely more poodle like. I have her coat trimmed every 6weeks to keep it in good condition and stop it getting matted. However af...

Re: Use it or lose it

Love your photos!

Totally agree about the Seahouses to Bamburgh walk. Have just been up there for a week. Love the walking on Embleton Bay to Low Newton as well and the cliff top walk from Craster to Dunstanburgh - absolutely stunning! No dog restrictions on the beaches either :D :D :D

Re: places to visit with a doodle or 2 or 3 or....

Great to hear a recommendation for the north-east coast. Some great beaches in that part of the world. We have just got back from a holiday in Northumberland. The beaches there are quiet, unspoilt and very dog friendly. Often need to wrap up in warm clothes but well worth it for some lovely scenery....

Re: New member

Lovely to hear about the oldies. They do leave pawprints on your heart. Is my doodle Cassie unique? She soon loses interest in playing with a ball, a couple of throws and is more interested in chewing and wrecking the ball. We have had labs previously and they loved chasing balls and it was great ex...

Re: Is my labradoodle a toy or a mini?!

What a gorgeous pup Lando is. Love the colour and name. He definitely looks smaller than mine at that age tho can't be sure how much she weighed as a young pup. She is now fully grown and 12" to her shoulder, 8kg. Will be interesting to see how his coat/colour develops. Mine is very poodle like . Ch...

Re: Is my labradoodle a toy or a mini?!

Like you I am a new member to this forum. I have however found lots of extremely useful info on this site. Also like you my doodle was a lot smaller than we ever expected. She is 3 years old now and about 8 kg. I seem to remember as a puppy she was very small and light although she did fill out at a...
