I don't like using chemicals either, but needs must when the devil drives. The Diatomaceous Earth is abrasive and slices them open - the Dermoline can then penetrate and kill them. Dermoline louse shampoo (for horses generally, but works equally well on other species - chickens included) and Diatomaceous Earth do the trick for me.

A litter of 5 week old working gundog Labrador pups were stolen from an address in Dorney, South Buckinghamshire overnight Mon 02/05/11.
