Re: Collar recommendations

I use these http://www.lupinepet.com/

Very hardwearing, survive sea swims etc, wash in the machine and come up like new every time, don't leave any stains on the fur, easy to get on and off and not expensive plus they come with a replacement guarantee even if chewed.

Re: Could this be a phantom pregnancy?

It sounds very much like a phantom pregnancy but the behaviours you have described could also be symptoms of a uterine infection called pyometra. It would be a good idea to have her checked out at the vets to rule this out.

Re: Temporary Home for a great dog!

Hi Jake,

I think Bid was referring to the necessary health checks Monty will need to have had before contemplating using him at stud (hips/elbows/eyes etc).

Good luck with your search.

Re: Biting training!!! A last resort!

You have my sympathy, I know how difficult it is living with a bitey pup but I have to agree with what others have said about smacking and the possible problems later on with a dog who may associate hands with pain. I also noticed from your posts that you seem to have had Jackson since he was very y...

Re: Allergies?

Could Florence have sniffed up a grass seed :?: Or it could be a sign of kennel cough. Is anything coming out of her nose when she sneezes :?: Saffie snuffles and snorts and sneezes when she's hugely excited....especially in the morning when she wakes me up  But she has always done it, and I'm...

Re: Apples

The dogs garden area here is an orchard filled with fruit and olive trees. They start off eating the cherries, then move onto the apricots (they are very clever they never eat the stone just the fruit  ) then it's apples, pears and figs. They are all adept at 'targetting' which fruit they want,...

Re: HARD TO PLEASE REF:FOOD

There are very significant behavioral differences: for example, dogs can't feed their puppies by regurgitating food. (Dinets & Rotshild, 1998).  Wish someone had told Scarlet this when she had her pups - have to say regurgitated raw tripe is enough to turn even the strongest of stomachs ...

Re: Our last Tuesday!

Thanks Ei, I'll give anything a go atm. Tried the drops in the bra this am and it worked quite well, unfortunately the 1st thing he did when I got home from work was check out my chest - he's all there with his lemon drops is my Scrumps  Give the furry granddaughter and Molly a big kiss from me.

Re: Our last Tuesday!

Poor Scrumpy  And Scarlet and Daisy :( This is not at all satisfactory; there must be vet specialists for ears? Perhaps not in Italy, Karen. I know you have had problems there..... I wonder if vets rather like doctors attribute everything to allergies now? The only thing you haven't mentioned ...

Re: Our last Tuesday!

Were her ears sore before you changed or did it start afterwards :?: Since about the only thing Scrumps enjoys these days are his walks I've been doing a Katherine and trying to sneak his drops in while we are out, it worked a couple of times but I've had to stop now because, having had a doodle wit...

Re: Question for Freedom

Thanks Freedom :D . I know what you mean about the Baboons bottom  , Harriets was just the same during her season. The vet who spayed her said her uterus was extremely small and misshapen and if she had been bred it would probably not have gone well - not that we were ever intending to breed he...

Re: Our last Tuesday!

Bid, this is exactly what has been going on with Scarlet ever since she was about 7 months old. We've been round in circles so many times now. It's almost unbelievable that she has seen so many vets and had so many different treatments and yet nothing has worked :( . She had allergy tests done at ab...

Re: Question for Freedom

Great to hear you've found something that helps Lola. Cranberry juice used to be my favourite drink but they don't sell it here :( . Have to say neither of my girls suffered from infections or soreness with their inverted vulvas, it was only after Harry's season that she developed pyometra and the v...
