Re: Is my boy turning into a bully?

Met a local lady a few days ago with a bouncy young miniature labradoodle - as soon as it it clocked us it was jumping up and straining at the end of its leash. The lady was understandably really flustered although both hubby and I turned our backs and ignored for all feet on the ground. Pup then tr...

Re: The frozen peas in the garden idea - thank you!

We always chuck a small handful on the kitchen floor when we get the packet out. Milo just lurves them!!! I think we'd have serious sulks if we didn't.

Re: Advice on crating and getting puppy to settle in please

Oh no - not major - he had a lump removed from his breastbone area on 12th Feb which turned out to be just a fatty lump. However..... he licked the area (probably because he got razor burn - poor nurse was mortified and so apologetic) and pulled it apart a little but, typically on a weekend but vet ...

Re: Advice on crating and getting puppy to settle in please

Feed in crate - that's how we started with Milo as a pup - then gradually move bowl outside - just to make them see crate as good place. No door shutting until they are comfortable with being inside and then just start with very small increases of time - always rewards for being calm in crate or for...

Re: Nail clippers

I did wonder about the guillotine ones - thanks for that tip Bid - do you get a cleaner cut - and it must be easier to do it head on then try and get round sideways! After my last disaster with Milo's quick I'm keen to get a better pair.

Re: New Doodle Mum!

Welcome - I'm one of those members who just dips in now and then and I got a tip (thanks Pauline!) that you had posted over here. I'm in Godalming with an old boy of a labradoodle (all of six years now!) Puppywise haven't seen many labradoodles recently - there is a flood of Cockerpoos though! There...

Re: Any clicker trainers? (& getting dog to drive!!)

Thanks for the accolade Bid! Don't know about being an expert - just love it for speed and efficacy of communication. Been very slack in teaching new things lately. Karen Pryor is the clicker guru so anything by her. Clickertraining.com is a mine of info and very many great trainers on You Tub...

Don't know if this is of any use - owned by my neighbours. I've never been there.

Re: Introducing Ianto!

That amused me. My black cat (Milo's best buddy) is called Ianto. Whenever we go to the vet they call him Lanto or Iyantoe! And yes, he was named after the Torchwood guy. And all our chickens are named after Doctor Who girls. That's down to my girls, not me!
Look forward to a pic.

Funny, that's not the first time I've seen Chappie recommended for dodgy bellied dogs! I wonder what it is that seems to resolve the issue.

Re: Please please please help

Milo can be a bit humpy and I really think it is an overture to play, albeit very misguided. He only does it to certain dogs, usually other males  . He is normally very reticent and shy around strange dogs and completely freezes with lots of appeasement signals but sometimes he just clicks wi...
