Re: Bumps on the head

Talking of bumps, we thought our dog had a lump on his back and went through the usual emotions . Took him straight to the vets where they found that his microchip had migrated and now lies about 8 inches from where it started. It was lucky we knew this as coming back from abroad you have to test th...

Re: Litter mates, yay or nay?

I have 2 from the same litter, and I wouldn't change it for the world. Yes they require their own space, we walked them separately, and 'tried' to train them separately, but they equally love to go on long walks together and are great friends. They have learnt to eat in the same room, at first this ...

Re: Bentley and a bee...

We were abroad with our 2 labradoodles last year and one evening Daisy came in from the garden, dispalying all the symptons you describe with your dog, instant vomitting, trying to find grass, plants to eat. Withing about 10 minutes she was very unwell and had almost collapsed to the floor. This was...

Re: Rufus at Trevarno

We took Dudley and Daisy to Trevarno recently, it is a great place to go with your doodles - although they were a bit bewildered by the peacocks. Great dog friendly day out.

Re: Ideas please!

Daisy and Dudley have learnt the 'wait' command well, and by accident if I say the word 'practice' they now both sit down to wait before crossing roads. I used to practice with them crossing the path outside our house and they learnt the word from this .!! People think I'm strange when I use this wo...

Anyone from Cornwall help needed please

I will be moving to Cornwall in August and will be looking for somewhere to rent until I have sold my house in Wales. I have 2 doodles who will be with us so need accomodation that is dog friendly. Most rentals do not want dogs. Anyone have any contacts, this would be great. Just looking for 1 bedro...

Re: Ticks

Remember to checks the pads on their paws. Daisy had a tick lodged between her pads which was not easy to remove.

Re: Ear Plucking!

My vet has also said not to mess with ears as it can sometimes cause more problems. Have never plucked the ears and have not had any trouble, but maybe just lucky, who knows.

Re: Dust mite allergy

I wonder if the dust mite problem is the same as the one affecting humans. I suffered very badly with this as a child and the only solution that had any effect was the removal of the carpets in our house . There was a noticeable improvement after this. Wooden/laminate floors saved my misery which wa...

Re: Cut pads

Have been abroad with my two doods this year and they both ended up with sore paws as they found the grass very harsh (believe it or not mediterranean grass can be very spiky and not very British). The vet gave us a spray I assume an antiseptic and on the side it said it was very good for dogs and d...

Re: Healing thoughts please

Hi Linny, My corgi had to have an eye removed some years ago and the most awful thing is seeing the dog after the operation which is quite scary. However he recovered well and we got used to seeing him with only one eye. He led a very happy life without problems for many years on his one eye, so wis...

Advice about St Ives

Is there anyone living near St Ives who could recommend some good beaches for our two doodles to have a good walk on. We will be going there next week. Thanks all
