Re: Labradoodles in Rescue Survey - The Results
Mrs. Admin hits the nail on the head there - aggression as perceived by one person, isn't necessarily perceived by someone else. I'm sure plenty people fall into the category of "wanted a fashionable dog and wasn't ready for this". The figures are nonetheless useful and fascinating. I think 17% is a...

Re: Oscar - general advice
Yeah, we took it in turns to sleep downstairs with Tilly.
Barley sleeps on my legs, all 34 kilos of him, but he had to earn that honour by being sensible.

Re: Oscar - general advice
Just to say, at that age, they are genuinely disorientated after separation from the mum, so there's bound to be a bit of a commotion. We have always found that a ticking clock wrapped in thick blankets to replicate the mother's heartbeat helps them settle. Plus a hot water bottle, also thickly wrap...

Re: Worst thing your doodle has eaten.......?
We waited until Barley was one, and past the peeing and chewing phase, to have new carpet. The first time he was left alone, he took an ink cartridge from out of the printer, and chewed it up in five different areas of the new carpet. That was somewhat soul destroying...

Re: Barney
I'm dreadfully sorry to hear that Barney has left for the bridge.
Love to you and everyone who was touched by the lovely chap. He was a lucky dog to be so cherished and well looked after, and I think he would have known that.
RIP, beautiful Barney. xx

Re: Has your doodle been to vote today.......
Ditto, Katherine. :( The way I see it, hundreds of votes have not been cast, and polling stations stuck to different rules about closing, locking in, etc. Therefore the elections were not a fair result. It's as simple as that. I can't believe there hasn't been more uproar - it's an outrage no matter...

Re: Has your doodle been to vote today.......
Like Katherine, I am always in a state of excitement about general elections. Barley was too. He hugged a man outside the polling station, and wagged at everybody. My ten year old son was up at 5.30am to watch the results, and Barley was sat on the sofa with him, staring as if fascinated.

I seem to remember that the stuff you can buy for babies with colic has simethicone in. Infacol, I think, is the stuff. No idea if it could be given to dogs though.

And when you meet the breeder, you can see in their face that they have missed out on as much sleep as a new parent. But if they are doing their job, they look just as proud. 8) Not to mention the fact that they have already spent the money they will receive on vets' bills, stud fee, es...
