Re: DIY Doodle Grooming- anyone brave enough?

I am lucky that my 2 Doodles just need a trim around the beard and bum a few times a year! I do not mind the dogs hairs going everywhere and I find brushing/grooming therapeutic.

Re: Crufts!!

I do love Standard P9oodles and almost got one when I got Ruby - the cost of grooming them put me off and I wanted an easier managed coat :D Ruby looks Poodle-ish and her coat never grows to more than an inch or so, slightly longer on her neck and chest so giving her a semi lion trim look :o I would...

Re: A tragic warning about collars...

I have not left collars on my dogs for years after reading about 2 dogs play fighting and one getting its jaw caught in the other's collar. I think the dog died.

It was not something I had even thought about until then.

Re: Article on Labradoodles in The Times today!

It annoys me when I hear people say Labradoodles are more hyperactive and harder to train than other dogs - like all dogs, the owner has to bring them up properly and treat them as dogs not fluffy toys! My two are certainly a lot less boisterous than the majority of Labs and Golden Retrievers I know...

Re: Looking for a new puppy and getting a bit confused

I would not worry too much about a small home and a bigger dog - I have 4 dogs in a tiny 2 bedroomed house, but they have free run of everywhere apart from my bedroom! Until I got Lottie I had always kept small dogs as my house was small, but wanted something bigger and took the plunge! A year later...

Re: Having a labradoodle when at work during the day

I leave my 2 Labradoodles at home while am a work all day - they are let in the garden for 20 mins at lunchtime by a friend who makes herself a coffee and checks their water. They have a long walk in the morning (over 1 hour, mainly free running) and the same after work has ended, plus "brain games"...

Re: Good Article on insurance

It's an interesting article. I used to insure my dogs until one of had several stomach problems which came under the excess, but when she had a major problem - and a big bill - the company refused to pay as they said I should have informed them of the earlier problems. Now I save regularly into an a...

Re: Crossbreeds and the Pure Breed Snobs

I have owned mongrels (usually father unknown!), cross-breeds and pedigrees so I am not biased at all. Choose the dog breed and breeder you want and don't care what anybody says. There are dodgy breeders of all dogs - looking at the "pets for sale" groups on Facebook has opened my eyes and I would n...

Re: water at night yes or no

I have always been told that dogs should have water 24/7 unless advised otherwise by a vet

Re: Miniature Labradoodles do they really exist?

I have seen mini version of Ruby at a fun dog show last year - I just wish I had taken a photo of them together :!: The Mini-Ruby was in fact a Cockapoo, but it was virtually identical to her in every way except size. I have sad for my next dog I want a Mini Lottie both in looks and temperament (but...

Re: Grooming

My dogs only get bathed once or twice a year - unless they have rolled in something disgusting. Lottie has had two baths in the last 10 days - after years of ignoring horse poo, she has now decided it smells nice

Re: Do your doodles shed; yes or no?

Lottie moults for England - but that's one of the reasons why I got her, as I was fed up of having my Schnauzers trimmed. With her hair being long it is easy to spot and sits on top of the carpet, unlike a previous Jack Russell whose hair went into the fibres and turned a red carpet pink within a we...

It is still legal to sell puppies in pet shops - their are giant pet superstores selling them and even Harrods still sells puppies and kittens
