Re: Needing any info on Epiphen?

Hi Sue Sorry this is so late replying but I don't come on here very often! My dog was on Epiphen for about three years for his epilepsy. It can damage the dog's liver so it's worth protecting this by giving milk thistle with the epiphen. It is also essential that you get at least six monthly blood t...

Re: Again i'm back about Seizures

Sorry to read this. My dog was diagnosed with epilepsy 7 years ago, my first advice would be to find a new vet. If your dog is having this many seizures he definitely needs medication. If you google epileptic kindling you will see that once a dog starts having regular seizures, the brain learns to h...

Snuggles Puppies!

For those of you who were here 10 years ago and followed Snuggles Puppies can you believe they will be 10 on Sunday, where has that time gone?! I've tried to find the original post, I think there was about 50 pages of it, but I can't find it! I must admit with all Murphy's health issues there has be...

Re: Wilson now 9 years old !

I remember you!!! Hello again!! I've also not posted on here for ages either. We've had a nightmare time with Murphy, I don't know if you remember but he's epileptic and the epilepsy meds nearly killed him back in August, as they gave him liver failure. Luckily I realised something was wrong and we ...

Paroxysmal Dyskinesia

Murphy has just been diagnosed with PD on top of his epilepsy. Apparently it's a very common complaint for labradors. It doesn't do the dog any harm, but it does freak them out, as they cannot move whilst experiencing an episode. When he has an episode it looks very similar to an epileptic seizure, ...

Re: Harley has had a stroke

I've only just seen this, what a nightmare summer you've had. So glad he's on the mend now. We had a German Shepherd when I was a child that had a stroke whilst she was in kennels whilst we were on holiday (needless to say she was never left in kennels ever again). I can't remember how old she was w...

Re: Doodle Seizures

I wrote and informed the manufacturers of Advantix that it appeared that their drug had triggered epilepsy in my dog - needless to say I didn't get an acknowledgement, let alone a reply!

Absolutely awful stuff! Give them a good raw bone, healthy and no chemicals, additives, preservatives etc.

Re: Doodle Seizures

I am absolutely convinced that my dog's epilepsy was trigger by Advantix flea treatment. He had never had any sort of seizure until I used this on him, it was the second time I'd used it on him (the first time he got very hyper and just wouldn't settle, but I though it was just a coincidence). Withi...
