Re: swollen tail base
My boy had this a few weeks ago, they do look so funny without their 'wag'. Jasper only seemed in pain that first day, and I'd say his wag was back within about 5 days. It happened to him after he met my Mum's cockapoo for the first time, and literally spent all day wagging his tail like mad trying ...

Re: Registering Poppy
My three are all registered as we compete at agility. Freddie is 'Young Master Frederic', Frederic for the character he is named after (out of Pirates of Penzance), and Master from his sire's name. Darcey is 'Dee Dee Julep'. Julep was her name in rescue, so I wanted Darcey Julep, but Darcey is a reg...

Re: first agility session
Well done Pixie and Jazz, what clever girls :D. I'm very envious, I'd love to get Aero involved in agility, he has superb jumping skills (where stealing food is involved  ), but sadly I think he would be too excitable to concentrate... :( xx Excitable is good for agility! And even if you only...

8 month old girl needing a home
I've just been told about an 8 month old black labradoodle looking for a home. She is nice natured, and fairly petite. If anyone is interested, she is with Saltburn Animal Rescue
www.s-a-r-a.org.uk or telephone 01642 488108.
If you are interested, try to be quick. We don't think she'll be there long!

Re: New puppy! Is this a fleece coat?
It is really hard to tell. I thought Jasper would end up with a curly coat as he was a very hairy pup, but it developed into a soft wavy fleece which does shed, although not a huge amount. This is Jasper as a pup http://i386.photobucket.com/albums/oo307/Freddies_mummy/Jan-Mar%202010/SDC12244.jpg And...

Re: Travelling by train and tube with doodle
I took Freddie to London just before Christmas. I took a blanket to put on the seat on the train as I knew he wouldn't want to sit on the floor. Luckily this seemed fine as the Guard seemed quite happy to see him there. He was fine on the tube too, and as he doesn't weigh too much I just carried him...

Re: Dog ate raisins
Ouch, that is expensive! A few weeks ago Darcey ate 100g of dark chocolate so she had the apomorphine injection too, but it only cost £70. And she was privileged it seems as she threw up all over the consulting room floor

Re: Anyone watching Crufts?
I went to Crufts for two days (Saturday and Sunday) and loved every minute. I'm not interested in the breed showing, but loved watching the agility and freestyle competitions. And the shopping is just fantastic! I agree with the sentiments about breed showing, but it is good to see that the Kennel C...

I wouldn't go back either. If they're running KC good citizen classes then I would also complain to the Kennel Club - they frown on this type of training too.

Re: Chicken and rice....mmmmm
My doodle Jasper doesn't seem to be able to tolerate any grain at all. He started out on Royal Canin, then I tried various foods including JWB Wainwrights and Green Dog. He would have one normal-ish poo in the morning then squits afterwards and for the rest of the day. Eventually I tried Barking Hea...

Poor Sadie, hope she recovers quickly. I couldn't agree more about insurance. Jasper has a health problem and the bill is up to £3,000 already, and we've not even reached a diagnosis yet

Re: Agility Pro's and con's
I really LOVE agility! It is fun and fast, promotes a really good relationship between you and your dood, improves general behaviour as obedience is all a part of it and gives your doodle an outlet for his bright mind. The only things to be careful of, especially with the bigger doods, is to make su...
