Re: lead signs for your dog

I want one that says "Please don't click with your mouth as you pass". Dexter is as good as gold when I tell him to "Leave" as we pass people but the amount of people who make a little clicking noise as they pass which Dexter thinks means "Please jump up at me" drives me to distraction!!

Re: Feeling terrible. Symptoms of over-exercising puppy?

Even experts can't completely agree on what is exactly an acceptable level of exercise so I am surprised that anyone can tell you that you are "wrong". I think there is a general consensus that a lot of jumping or a lot of going up and down stairs is not a good idea but quite frankly, when you've go...

Re: Puppy and cat trouble

I never thought that my cat and dog would get on. Even now, you couldn't say they are friends but they have learned to tolerate each other. I think that you should try to encourage the puppy to leave the cat alone - there are all sorts of ways, you just need to find what suits you - but I wouldn't d...

Just make sure the paws don't get cracked after their snowy walks.

Hi Hushpuppy,

I expect there was an element of humour in your post so I won't say the same as the other two even though it is very good advice. Have you any idea of what sort of 'doodle' you want or are you just thinking of a Labradoodle? What other dogs do you have?

Re: students!

Mrs Admin, being a lady of a certain age, I agree with much of what you are saying! I also paid for my post grad courses and I have to say I don't think I always got what I was paying for so can see it from the other side. One thing I do think is that sending immature people to Uni is probably desig...

Re: Spoke too soon.....

I do Agility with Dexter there and I have been thinking of carrying on with his Silver award with them as Jeff seems so good with the dogs there. I went to Blendworth for his Bronze and there was nothing wrong with it but Jeff has such a natural, warm way with dogs, its a delight to watch him at work.

Re: Beardy Chins!!

I cut Dexter's off once because I got fed up with his wet beard but it just meant that instead of having a damp chin he had a dripping chin. I was glad to see it grow back to be honest.

Re: Bruno got attacked - AGAIN

Poor Bruno! : I witnessed the most horrible thing today :? A JR/Staff came hurtling up to a JR pup and lab X (who Betsy and Tilly had been playing with earlier) picked the pup up by the stomach and started shaking it   The poor little mite's screams made me feel sick, and I just start...

Re: Coat colour change??

Dexter was a pure black goldendoodle with a little white flash on his chest when he was pup. Now he has "faded" and has more than his fair share of white hairs throughout his coat, particularly his eyebrows, a brownish muzzle and a flash of white on his tail. The original flash on his chest has rema...

Re: students!

There are lots of jobs where you just can't start at the bottom and work your way up - you just have to have the right qualifications. However, I do think that there are many ways of making University better value for society so it feels more like paying for the students' education. I graduated back...

Hi, I'm on the West Sussex/Hampshire border and have Dexter who is 2, neutered and won't take any nonsense but is usually quite a gentle dog who also likes a bit of rough and tumble. I would be more than happy to meet up with you for a walk. Please do pm me if you're interested - I don't mind a bit ...

Well done to you and Jackson. Its amazing the difference some of the smallest things do for these Doods. I think we all have times of despair and it sounds like yours has helped you to make some very sound judgments. Long may it continue :D

Well done Claire. I know exactly where you're coming from and I'd probably have done the same because I can't bear to see anybody go through what I did. My daughter witnessed a lot when she was young so she tends to jump in feet first when it is anybody else although she is frightened of her own sha...
