Corn on the Cob?

Hi Hubby gave Mika corn on the cob on Sunday, cut it in half, thought he'd like chewing the kernals off, which he did. I then googled it and found that they say its not advisable to give to dogs. Kernals are fine but the husk can cause an intestinal obstruction. Needless to say I am now watching him...

Re: Haircut/shave

Many thanks for all the responses. The photos look lovely. I know we have to do this and then have a fresh start. I agree that to shave them may make them quite sore. I'll phone the groomer and have another chat with her. Thanks again.

Haircut/shave

I've just been reading an older post about haircuts. Mika is 10 months now, chocolate F1b, looks like Piet in previous post, v thick curly coat. Unfortunately he isn't keen on me grooming him, I feel v guilty and should have pursevered as now he has become fairly matted. The groomer has said he will...

Re: Siblings

Hi, we have Mika who was born on Oct 2nd 2009. His dad is Marmi from Wentwood and mum Charity. Not a sibling but related! He's turning into a lovely chocolate labradoodle (at 10 months larger than maybe we initially thought!). But a pure delight and keeps us extremely busy. I'll try and post some pi...

Are there any of Mika's litter mates out there?

I've been meaning to post this question for a while now. Was wondering if anyone has one of Mika's litter mates from Wentwood breeders in Monmouth. Mika was born 3 October 2009, he is a standard chocolate F1b. Mum is a labradoodle named Charity and Dad Marmi a gorgeous standard poodle. We are thorou...

Re: Started chewing furniture !!!!!!! HELP !!!

Hi

Someone suggested to me to use oil of cloves on woodwork, I've tried this and seems to work. Mika loves chewing wood but once the clove oil is on, he sniffs it and walks away. Makes the house smell nice too!

Re: Whats best, food-walk or walk-food???

I've just read the thread on bloat and it mentions raised feeders for large breeds. This is something we had thought about. Any comments, advice or opinions? Mika is a standard labradoodle fed on dried food. I soak some of his food in water to stuff in his kong and its surprising how it swells up. T...

Help! Doodle in the kitchen!!

Hi there, I need some advice. Mika is quite a tall 6 month old labradoodle. He now reaches worktops in the kitchen. He will steal anything that may be there. Although now we tripple check that we haven't left any food out. Not only that, when I'm cooking or making sandwiches he won't think anything ...

Dog Chews

Any thoughts on types of dog chews to give 6 month labradoodle. I've heard there are some that help with teeth cleaning (this seems very hard with dog brush) and wondered if there would be a suitable one to give Mika in the evening when he likes to be in the lounge with us, laying down chewing on so...

Re: Grooming

Many thanks for all your comments, all very helpful. I'll give Mika's ears some attention now. I'll also be off to look at some more grooming brushes!

The Thornit powder sounds good too. Can you buy it in pet shops or vets?
Thanks

Grooming

Hi, I haven't posted on here for a while, need to get into the swing of it. We have Mika a 5 month old chocolate F1b labradoodle. Will find out how to post photos soon! Can anyone advise me on ear stripping and general ear cleaning. How often, any tips. I've had a go a couple of times (stripping the...

Re: What crate size should I get?

Thanks for all your replies. I think at the moment we do need to use a crate but definately a different size. Until we can leave Mika in the hall, or utility safely I feel this is necessary.

What crate size should I get?

Mika our standard F1b chocolate labradoodle is almost 5 months old. We purchased a crate from our breeder which has been extremely successful, for overnight use and when I work mornings. I now feel we need a bigger crate, he can't sit up straight in this one any more. (Although the breeder said they...
