Re: It’s been a while!
Thanks for the replies. I used to love seeing what everyone’s doodles had been up to! I wonder how many of them are still with us too. It’s been so hard losing Florrie, she was certainly one of a kind and has taught me so much over the years about how to care for a dog but also I’ve learnt things ab...

I accidentally just came across here not long ago whilst looking for something else, good old google. 😊 Not sure how many o...

Re: Itchy Doodles
Hi Bid. I don't really use cortevance on Florrie unless she gets hotspots on her skin or her ear flaps flare up. I found that the less I used ear cleaners the better her ears were. This is the first ear infection shes had since I last posted in this thread (april 2014) and in that time I haven't use...

Re: Itchy Doodles
I haven't posted for a while but I do still check in every now and then to see how things are. Florrie is now on Apoquel and has been for a few months. These past few months have been amazing, she's so happy and full of energy, her coat looks better and she's not been poorly with infections. We did ...

Re: IBD (Inflammatory Bowel Disease)
Hello! Florrie is another doodle on here with IBD. She was diagnosed I think just over 2 years ago after I took her to see an Internal Medicine Specialist at Anderson Moores Vet Specialists in Hampshire. The last straw came for me one night when I'd had to get up to Florrie (a common occurrence back...

Re: Coconut Oil
I've been giving Florrie a teaspoon of coconut oil on her breakfast for the past 6 months or so. Initially I started her on.it in the hopes that it would improve her skin and coat condition, it hasn't but shes complicated. She has quite a bit of medication in.the mornings so we hide all her tablets ...

Re: possible megaesophagus
I had to speak to the vet to update hime on Florries progress on Tuesday. I told him how well she had been doing and that she had not vomited at all since her tests. Think I cursed her though because Tuesday afternoon, Florrie had diarrhoea then vomited. There was loads and she was retching for ages...

Re: possible megaesophagus
Sorry, had issues with my phone hence continuing my reply here. Florrie also has a nasty skin infection so the vet gave her an amtibiotic injection which will treat the skin but also ensure that none of the ulcers become infected. I also have some more anti sickness tablets to give her in case she v...

Re: possible megaesophagus
Florrie had her endoscopy and x-rays yesterday and we now know what the problem is. She is having a severe flare up of her oesophagitis due to a vomiting episode. We're not sure what caused the initial vomiting or reflux but this has burnt away her mucosa lining which is now severely ulcerated. So u...

Re: possible megaesophagus
Thanks for all the good wishes for my girl. I took her back to see the vet earlier as even though she hasn't vomited since saturday, she's still not right and is still coughing when eating or drinking. Shes got to go in for a GA on thursday to have an endoscope put down to see if theres anything goi...

Re: possible megaesophagus
Florrie is still continuing to vomit, on Friday she started bringing up bile which she hasn't been doing. She was so uncomfortable and kept coughing that on Saturday, I took her back to see the vet. We ended up seeing the vet who did Florrie's Pyloric surgery and he doesn't think she's regurgitating...

possible megaesophagus
It's a possibility that Florrie has megaesophagus :( Shes been regurgitating food and water and the vet is worried that the cause of this could be quite serious. I have antacids for her and a liquid medication to coat her throat and esophagus to see if its just a flare up of her esophagitis which sh...

Re: worried about my puppy
I hope things settle down quickly.
Florrie is prone to urine infections, the sample if you do manage to collect one, needs to be no more than 1 hour old otherwise the bacteria overgrows and the vet won't get an accurate sample.
Hope you get on ok at the vets.
