Re: dark wax in one ear
Amos has the same. Since I got him at 8 weeks, he has had one dark red waxy mucky ear, and one lovely fresh pink one. Very odd. Like Amber says, just keep it clean.

Re: Tribute to Ruby - v. sad
So very very sorry to hear about little Ruby. What a dreadful shock. She will be at Rainbow Bridge, playing and waiting. Bless her.

Re: Adder Advice
Ooh I think this is really alarming. We have just bought a house with direct access to a huge heathland area. I was really looking forward to lots of long walks in there. Has anyone got anymore information or advice? How do you know if they have been bitten? if, say, they have gone running off for a...

Re: Yet again a horrible walk
I think The Pooles have a good point here. Amos hit a point at 15 months that he thought he was the boss, ( which is how I found this forum). Try doing some intensive training. Do all the stuff in the house like going through the door first, taking some of his food etc. The get some really good big ...

Re: The cats hate him, what can we do?
Do be a little careful tho, and not too blase, our last cat, who tolerated Amos and no more, left home for 3 weeks when my friends dog confronted him one day. He totally freaked like a cartoon cat. He has since left home permanently ( been gone a nearly 2 years now) and now lives with an old...

Re: The cats hate him, what can we do?
What I would do, if your knees can stand the claws, is to sit with cat on your knee, happily stroking, lots of fuss etc, have your OH bring Bos in on a lead, or in his arms ie totally calm. Have him wander around the room with Bos, while you keep on fussing the cat like mad. Gradually bring Bos towa...

Re: scoobie haircut!!! what doyou think?
Very handsome indeed. It is like having a new dog isnt it when theyre clipped, they look so different. Bet he feels better too. Amos is ready for doing any week now, but I keep trying to hang on to the shaggy look as long as possible. Dont know why, cos I'll love it when hes done too.

Re: Walkies................walkies.
He's only a babe - I think the middle walk of up to 2 miles is a little bit too far at this stage. I would say 1 mile would be better for a few months. Its so hard to stop them racing about tho, theyre so full of energy. Just try to make sure he doesnt bound up or down steps, jump up onto things etc...
