A horrible decision to make - but I always feel that in a way, our pets are luckier than humans in some respects - if something awful happens, you can make that decision not to let them suffer. I hope that does not sound heartless, as it is certainly not meant that way. Good luck with the insurance....

Seems perfectly reasonable to me. As long as you can be contacted - what's the problem ? I am a gardener and out of the house most of the day, so would usually only give my mobile number to anyone whom I WANTED to contact me !
