They should have a section cut down at the front so they can get out if they want to. You will find they will not want to soil their sleeping area and will try to get away from it. I suggest you put newspaper down in the pen outside the box.

Yes Linda, they should. Alternatively in a big enclosed box, with the heatpad in it, within the puppy pen.

Puppies cannot regulate their own body temperature until they are around 4 weeks old. Therefore they should be confined to a draught proof bed with a heat pad (or heat lamp) until they have reached that age. Sometimes it can be extremely hard to find a labrador in the ancestry anywhere :? , in which case where does the LABRAdoodle bit come in and do you eventually get back to straight Poodle?
