Re: Breeders reselling pups

Thanks I was curious if there was a standard, I've seen a few adverts for 6-8 month old dogs with and asking price similar to an 8 week old. Some breeders try to recoup some of the purchase price for the previous owners but personally if I was looking for an older pup/dog I wouldn't expect to pay p...

Re: Breeders reselling pups

I also think very much to do with circumstances, age of pup etc. If I had a returned pup/dog I would be very careful about offering it free on the likes of Epupz as sadly advertising a dog this way can attract the wrong sort of new owners. A breeder may also have spent money on a dog they are rehomi...

Re: 7 month male F1b labradoodle needs a new home

You could try contacting some of the reputable breeders near you and ask whether they have any older dogs/pups for rehoming. A good breeder will take the responsibility of rehoming any pups they bred who can't be kept by their owner. All the best!

Re: Labradoodle F1B Reduce Shedding?

She is very Lab coated, just goes to show that even with a backcross you can have a wide difference in coats, I would try a Furminator on her. :-)

Re: Newbie, wanting advice on breeders of miniature labradoodles

We are currently expecting our second litter of Miniature F1b Labradoodles, we kept a pup back from our last litter and she is around 17", reports back from the other puppy owners indicate that the other pups are roughly the same height give or take an inch or so. Have just read this website - soun...

Re: Exercise - So Confused....help needed

That 5 minutes/day/month thing has always sounded terribly little to me. Considering how young doods behave when they have another doodle to play with (they can tussle for HOURS!) and isn't that just what they'd do if they were growing up with the rest of their litter? I'd be really interested to k...

Re: Exercise - So Confused....help needed

She's gorgeous! I would say don't stick to the 5 min rule religiously, especially now that she's almost a year, I would still be cautious and not expect her to go trekking for hours on end, day in, day out. When any of mine have ever spent time in kennels they are a bit manic when they get out, I wo...

We use Vet Bed, it's comfortable and difficult for them to do too much damage to. :-))

Re: Use of a cage?

Just wanted to say my three crate trained dogs have never been what I would describe as insecure, I personally think a choice to crate train possibly has more to do with the lifestyle/circumstances of the humans in the house than the dogs. It works for some but not for others.

Re: Use of a cage?

All three of mine have been crate trained and there are many advantages to this. Your pup will probably already be used to being in a 'cage', most breeders use a pen of some sort to contain the pups so it's not as alien a concept as it may seem. I have found crate training really helpful with toilet...

I don't know much about Beta food, not sure if it's good quality or not. When you reintroduced the food did you do it gradually, mixing a little in with the chicken and rice, taking several days before fully on the Beta food again? Just wondering if the transition back was too quick? Some natural bi...

Re: Too young to choose?

It's a tricky one, we bred our first litter last year and I would have liked to ask people to wait until 6/7 weeks when we had a really clear idea of the puppies personalities and coats before choosing but it's a long time to keep people hanging on. We invited visitors last year some time between 3 ...
