Re: Could it be shock?
ah bless, he does look absolutely velvety and soft and shiney, i want to stroke his fur, and his colouring is just stunning. however i think i too would be very upset at the tail - although i know from harvey that its really hard to keep the matts out of the top of the tail as they dont normally app...

Re: vet consultation fees
much as i hate it, i would expect to pay a consultation fee for every appointment i see the vet - someone has to pay for their time. i liken vets to private doctors = you get nothing for free and thats what pays their wages. If you have to visit 3 times to get a problem sorted, its 3 times the time ...

Re: Earhole plucking!!!!!!??
i think the advice out there is conflicting, so go with your gut i used to pluck beth's ears but found that for a week after it she would shake her head, which i took as a sign that the plucking had irritated her. she then developed a real aversion to anyone going near her ears, which we're working ...

Re: Growling at us...
good advice youve got here the only thing i'd add, is that by continuing to take away the bone, she may well "up" the growling behaviour as so far it isnt working to stop you taking her bone away. you may well then get to a snarling or even a bite :( Harvey used to be a bit possessive around food (p...

Re: Does swimming come naturally?
beth is a brilliant swimmer and just loves it :D however harvey can't really swim - he never tries on purpose just gets wet up to his belly whislt beth is swimming. the odd occasion he's got out of his depth he cannot coordinate himself- his front paws just splash about his head gets thrown back and...

Re: Help!! Shoulder ache from recent lead pulling!!!
my two are the same - beth hates a head collar, its no fun for her and i don't like the look - for some people they think it looks like a muzzle so get fearful to stroke her halti also do a harness which i use for both of mine - its brilliant! your lead attaches in front of the breastbone and makes ...

Re: Britain's Unwanted Pets; Panorama tonight.
after beth having a chunk taken out of her shoulder by a seemingly friendly staffie on a lead with a very respectable woman i am very fearful around them. i'm also aware this signal must pass on to my doodles, but not sure how i can become more confident and take the one incident as a bad experience...
