Re: Help! Dougle won't come back on the lead!
The problem that you will find is that now he knows that he doesnt have to come back when you call him he never will unless he wants to. So my advice would be take him to a different field and work hard on recalls e.g. let him off, call him then run away, hide ect. When he comes give him a big rewar...

Re: my howling puppy: help!
With Lola we were expecting some whimpering but by 4am she still hadnt stopped crying so my girl friend in a sleep deprived rage ran in and shouted 'Shut the F*** up!' and from then on we never heard a peep from her! Not sure id recommend this to anyone though, but I am just sharing my experience. W...

Re: How much exercise does your doodle have/need?
A typical day for Lola (who is 18 months) is 2 miles in the morning with me on my bike, then after work id play/train with her outside for an hour then in the evening we normally go for a 3 or 4 mile walk. If ive got a busy day though rather than doing the evening walk I would just take her up the p...

Re: NEW PHOTO COMPETITION

I have chosen this picture because it was a particularly eventful day! The Silly Setters were a nightmare but they did pose nicely for the photo.

Re: Disturbing the dog in the night!
With Lola we put her in the create at 11ish and we would not expect to hear from her until we got up at 8 or 9ish. However my dad goes to work at 4 ish so I just told him to ignore her! And he did and she sleeps like a good'n.

Re: crates and cars
Ive got a clio and Lola is fine on the back seats. I have a seat cover on but apart from that she just hops in and lays down. It is very important to car train through. The first time we put her in the car we made sure that she laid down where we told her (and not let her round around the car) befor...

Re: What time does your dog get up in the morning?
On my days off (which are a lot) I normally get Lola up about 9 ish. Her record for laying in is 12 noon but we had been up the pub all night.

Re: When and how often do you give a puppy a bath?
I would go through the motions e.g. put her in the bath (or shower) put some water in but I wouldnt bother washing her. Lola's now 18 months old and we've only washed her 3 times. I have found that when she drys all dirt just falls off. If she has something particularly stinky on her I just get her ...
