Re: Fleas again!

Ha, ha Liz I can remember flea combs from a kid and need to get rid, the only way to manually kill a flea is to crack it between your thumb nails   I don't do carpets, material upholstery, big or thick rugs. :D Have looked at the seresto collars with hope but they only seem to go up to 8...

Fleas again!

Freddie often has incounters with hedgehogs  This has lead to fleas :( We got rid of an infestions late summer quite easily but just before Christmas he had them again. We bathed (outside) and Frontline. Got most of them but a few persisted. He is out in the cold a lot and we have leather, and ...

Re: Hair cut

Sounds great but Freddie will just 'sit'! I can't always see what he is doing and he just sits or stands doing nothing, for ages so if his coat was short he would get cold. I have a horse that does the same thing but she wears a coat. I just don't feel I can rely on the silly dog to ask to come in w...

Re: Hard water?

We have one like a water cooler so the bit that holds the reserve of water I swish out with bleach then rinse well but the other bit is cream so not way can you get the mark off  I love his tin dishes best as you can do what you like with them and they come up all clean and shiny :D

Re: Hair cut

I would love to have Freddie like that Pixies mum :D He has been out most of this morning, it is cold, damp and windy and he will come in a real mess! I can't keep putting a coat on him every time he want to go out so keep his coat long. Roll on some warmer weather and he will have a good cut

Re: Hair cut

Freddie needs to go to the groomers, I would love him to have a proper cut but it is just too cold as sometimes he stays outside for ages. Like you I have his eyes, bum and any 'bits' that are getting out of hand.

Re: Fish (Salmon) Oil -which one did you choose?

Freddie sometimes has tinned fish in oil or tomatoe sauce. We give the horses ordinary vegetable oil from the supermarket and if Freddie's skin was dry or flaky or his coat was too dull I would give him the same. Expense doesn't alway mean better results. Although sometimes it does :D

Re: Grooming Helpplease

We put Freddie either on the bench outside or on the settee in the conservatory. His winter coat is very thick and long so I stand in front with some treats and OH does the brushing

Re: Turtle mats

You can get the dirttrappers in bigger sizes but I use a rubber backed runner and small mat when I see them on offer. IF OH remembers to close the kitchen day Freddie has to wait in the hall for 5 minutes just to dry off a bit. If he doesn't I have tiles and laminate which at least you can mop,, so ...

Re: Any horse experts out there?

Many years ago we as a family and Afghan dog were in the lake district, at the time I was not at all keen on cows. We were going a long a path to the right a dry stone wall, to the left a steep hill. Over the top, like a tribe of indians in a western came a herd of cows, they started trotting down t...
