Re: To claim or not to claim?
I had a similar dilema whether to claim for £250 worth of xrays and medication to date for Marley's OCD. I have decided to claim as the medication will be ongoing. The insurance I have goes up to £7500 per condition (not year) so I can continue to claim if I stay with the same company which would be...

Re: Argument about getting a pound dog rather than a labradoodle
We tried first to re home a rescue dog but were turned down time and again because we both work and couldnt be there 24/7. So we got our two both from puppys. I agree that all dogs need a home beit older rescue or puppy, so it must be whatever works for your personal situation to give that dog the b...

Re: Limping!?!
Marley had a couple of episodes of limping on his front left leg 2-3 months ago. After the second time we had him xrayed and he was diagnised with osteochronditis (OCD) in his front left elbow. The vet described it as the ball in the joint having grown in there quite tight so after a bit if extra ex...

Re: average age for first season
It does sound very good. This link below is taken from the website of the vet we are taking Duffy to and it shows what they actually do to remove the ovaries via keyhole surgery. http://www.biovisiontech.com/bvmedia/bvmedia_spay_256.wmv The vet told me it reduces pain by 60%, time under anaesthetic ...

Re: average age for first season
Duffy is now 15 months and have been told by vet last week that she has already had her first season and we must have missed it
at least there was no mess
Now booked in for keyhole spay.

Re: Bathing your dood?
Duffy is the same. She has dark skin and looks black when wet but left to dry she just needs quick brush after. If they do get stinky I use the outside hose to rinse and a little doggy shampoo just to shift the worst bits.

Re: Boring booring kibble - what to top with?
Wainwrights wet food trays ...they both love them and Marley is REALLY fussy... as a topper to the dry food. Good high meat content, good as but cheaper than Natures Diet/Menu/Harvest, and suits their tums to give good poos

Re: Help - Piet's mum worrying about him
Dont worry Piet will be fine. We both work full time (actually OH works away mostly so really just me). I take them out for a quick wee/poo walk at 6am and leave for work by 7am. MIL calls in for a couple of hours around lunchtime 3/4 days a week so they have quiet days, and 1/2 a week they go to do...

Re: I got involved in an argument on the street....
I echo others who say beware as that couple may both have turned on you for "interfering". Having dealt with a lot of these situations in a professional capacity I began by making the mistake of reacting to what I saw but had no understanding of, and being assaulted by the perceived "vicitm". I woul...
