Although he's called Podge, he doesn't live up to his name! I don't think he's overweight, his weight has remained the same for the last 4-5 months. He is quite a stocky boy though - big chest and neck. I'll see what the vet says.
Yes, he was running around more than usual as my son took the ball thrower. Usually when I take him out we just walk, and play with the occasional passing dog. When he plays for longer than normal, he does get extremely worn out. I have thought on one previous occasion that he didn't seem quite righ...
Thanks Ruth and Maddy. I will take Podge when we get back from hols. He will be having a quieter week anyway with my mum and dad, and no children to play with .
We're off to Tenerife, so hopefully it will be warmer and drier than here .
Hi Madeleine, I would take him to the vet but they are closed today and tomorrow we're off on holiday for a week. My mum and dad are coming to our house to look after Podge, so I 'll give them the vet's details in case they need to pay them a visit. I don't think he needs to see a vet immediately, i...
Podge is nearly 2 but he doesn't seem to have the energy of other dogs. After a walk of about 45 mins to an hour he is very puffed out and after playing "tug" with my teenage son for 10-15 mins indoors, he is panting profusely. Yesterday, OH and my son took Podge for a walk for about an hour and wer...
Hi - we cannot meet up as we will be somewhere warmer :D but I used to live in that area and can recommend a drive to Mount Edgcumbe Park. It's a lovely drive through Polbathic and Sheviock, along the cliffs to Rame Head (another good place for a walk) and on to Mount Edgcumbe. There is plenty of pa...
Hi - I have just got a new car and would like to keep the boot relatively clean (I know that sounds mad with a hairy doodle ).
Someone put a post on here some time ago about a very useful boot liner and I was wondering whether anyone could recommend a good one that stays in place. Thanks.
Podge is 20" to the shoulder and weighs 22 kilos. He is classed as a mini although I would say he's more medium. His mum was a large black lab, probably the biggest one I have ever seen (the breeder described her as Old English type - I've never heard of this), and his dad was a black miniature pood...
Hi - with regard to More Than, my policy states that Podge is covered for treatment for as long as is necessary. Is that not the same as lifetime cover? The premium started off at £11.20 and I've recently had the renewal through at £12.40, so I'm pleased with that. I have never made a claim so canno...
My sincere condolences to you and your family. I too lost a nephew aged just 18, not in the services but a car crash, and can fully understand the trauma and devastation you are all feeling. Every time I see the repatriation of servicemen and women on the news, I get a lump in my throat. My thoughts...
We're registered with both Pet Sitters and Barking Mad but haven't used either as luckily my dear mum and dad come and stay in our house to look after Podge. I agree about the kennels though, I have looked at several that were recommended but after checking them out, would not be happy to leave Podg...
Podge is exactly the same. If I'm going out without him (which isn't often) he seems to know and just like Leon, refuses his treats. He always goes and sits in the same place, right next to the shoe rack by the front door, just to make me feel worse and, occasionally, takes one of MY shoes and has a...
I've just had my insurance renewal for Podge through as well. He's with More Than on the top protection, which last year was £124.68. The renewal premium is £145.32, which I suppose isn't bad compared with your 50% increase MrsA! I have never made a claim. Podge is 20 months old, so it really should...
