Re: A helpful and friendly forum?

I think I can guess who 'Bubbles' is  (hint: importance of seeing BOTH parents of puppies, heath test not important....)

Re: Hip score and vets

I don't agree with puppy farms either. You can buy a puppy from a home breeder that socialises and does all the necessary health checks. Getting rid of hip scoring is crazy imo.

Re: Seeing the dad - important or not?

Seeing the dad would be on my desirable list, having full health testing of the parents would be on my essential list.

Re: Hip score and vets

How ridiculous!

SBW2009 are you against health testing or are you just trying to stir things up?

Re: Seeing the dad - important or not?

Seeing the dad would be on my bonus list and not the essential list, there are far more important points such as: the environment the puppies were being brought up in, health tests done properly, the experience and knowledge of the breeder etc. I would far rather buy a puppy from someone knowledgeab...

Re: LOOKING FOR A DOODLE!!

My advice would be, try not to be too fussy as there is no such thing as a 'perfect dog', even tho labradoodles are the best!!! :D As they are cross breeds there is so much variation, even in one litter. Keep an open mind, and try not to find the same dog as you saw on holiday. The blacks, silvers, ...

Re: Poll: Miniature Sizes

I was asking a few breeders this question so I could add it to my hip survey, and the replies so far suggest the following sizes for doodles. :| Miniature 14 - 16 inches Medium 17 - 20 inches Standard 21 + inches I think this is the guide for Australian labradoodles as I remember reading it on one ...

Re: Squirrel pie for tea...

I agree with Amber on this one. This is a bit sick. :( If a dog chases a squirrel and kills it then it's a shame, but to encourage it to kill, then that is just wrong IMO.

Re: Any bitches not got pregnant recently?

THANK YOU ALL FOR YOUR VERY VALUABLE COMMENTS! I have read and digested them all! Unfortunately Keith got wind of the fact that I had put this thread on and it made him angry and hurt that I was "discussing our life on a website". I did explain to him that I had downed an entire bottle of wi...

Re: Code of practice

It really upsets me to see ex breeding or stud dogs just sold on because their owner has no further use for them. :( Anyone who makes out they are just a hobby breeder and then sells their dogs on is a commercial breeder/puppy farmer in my opinion. And there is a thin line between commercial breeder...
