Re: Slip lead

Slip leads are designed as the name suggests to slip on and off, not to choke or check. In reality slip leads aren't suitiable for dogs that pull however any dog can lunge now and again and it must be remembered that a dogs neck is quite easily damaged. You still must have a collar and tags on your ...

Re: N.E. Dog Fun Day SUNDAY 29th JULY

It seems that about a dozen or so local doodlers will be there.

there are some of the local roads closed for the Olympic Football so plan extra time to get there :)

Re: 17 mile walk

Well done to both of you.

I love a long walk with Lewie (poor benson is too old for anything over about 5 miles) there is something amazingly bonding about walking with your dog for real long distances.

N.E. Dog Fun Day SUNDAY 29th JULY

If you are anywhere near, this is well worth the trip. Lewie and Myself (and maybe even old Benson) will be doing an agilty and working dog display and also there will be a 'have-a-go' agility course for you all to give it a try. This is the only info I could find PAWS WITH PRIDE – 11.30am Sunday 29...

Re: What would you do??

Great oppertunity for you.

Sadly dogs are banned from most public spaces (parks & beaches)
The UAE is mainly a muslim country and there are many religious restrictions on dogs :(

Whatever you deciede, let it be right for you

Re: pixie and the gundog scurry

Well done for showing the 'real' gundogs how its done.

I once won a scurry with Lewie and the sad little man I beat into 2nd place refused to collect his prize due to the fact Lewie wasn't a gundog  still took my 1st place prize

Re: How damaging can playing fetch be for our doodles?

I tend to think that both the labs and poodles were bred for hunting and retrieving, and I'm sure the birds, rabbits etc aren't all just standing still waiting to be caught! However, I do agree that too much of a good think can be damaging, so may in future limit Phoebe's ball play a bit. At least ...

Re: Leaving your dog outside a shop

I daily leave mine outside the shop while I go in for a paper or milk etc. I would guess that you are not talking about leaving them for long periods outside of the supermarkets, so working on a good strong stay and a wait with the lead attached to something is a good start. it is included in the Go...
