Re: Easy Walk miracle harness!
More and more Vets and dog organisations are coming out and saying attaching a lead to a dog's colar rund its neck, although done for years, is not a good idea. particularly if they pull. It's easy to think something is fine as we have all seen it done since we are children, and dogs have collars - ...

Re: ANY GOOD READING MATERIAL??
The best book I've read in ages is 'The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry'. It was on the Booker longlist, i thought it would win, but it didn't make the shortlist - but it is WONDERFUL - warm, touching, humorous, oh, just a lovely, lovely story. It's obviously written very well indeed, and is easy ...

Re: Missing a walk...
Poor Charlie! Wish him well. You could try him with some vitamin D3, we are all lacking in this and as he is a red head he will have been covered in sun cream and will definitely be in need of it. D3 is vital for the immune system. I occasionally, after being unconscious in the night, or very low in...

Told you! And what is more, once she gets used to a slack lead, you will be able to walk her on her collar - although personally, I think having a lead connected to a collar is cruel. Yay!

Re: Stupid arrogant selfish dog owner!
It will only burn a lawn if the dog pees in the same spot over and over again as it's like over fertilising. Ummm.. no. That's not true. Lola wees once on the lawn - it's dead. Gorn off. Brown. Kaput. Ex-lawn. But it does grow again! Honestly, obviously the in season dog's owner is to blame - how o...

Re: Litter picking
Take her to Kennel Club classes asap - this could be dangerous. Leave is a command they are taught very early. And 'stop'. It saves and has saved Lola several times now. Lola has not eaten anything she shouldn't since she was a pup. Apart from one bit of fish someone dropped next to her which i didn...

Re: Healthy treats
We gave lola apple but she soon tired of it! Cheese isn't so healthy as it is so high in fat and is an allergen that dogs can easily become sensitive to, as is any milk product. We use the Fish4dogs treats (just fish skin, health treats and they love them) and because I have to have a very high qual...

Re: Dear Doodle Forum ..... (Pt II)
If Lola... ahem, has a wind problem (this doesn't happen much which must account for her reaction) she whips round and looks at her bottom in amazement too - sometimes she stays there, nose whiffling, an astounded expression on her face, then she examines each bit of her tail... before wandering off...

Lola thinks he's very handsome, and would also like to know where you got his fleece cushion.

Re: Does Lola have OCD?
Hi Sharan, sounds like they both have the same syndrome, LOL! Lola has never collected shoes or slippers... I think because they are all in the hall and therefore a long way away and unavailable to her. She doesn't see them as toys. We did realise we are spoiling her though - the other day we came h...

Re: Breed specific phobia
Lola was attacked by a rescued (that week) husky. The trainer asked them not to come back. I think the safety of the other dogs should be paramount under such circumstances. Luckily lola seems unfazed but she is wary of brown labradors as there is one in our village who goes for her. My instinct wou...

Does Lola have OCD?
I was going to write this post out but don't have time now so I'll put the address of her blog post about this... she made me laugh today, but I think it's a symptom of another habit of hers!
