Re: Stout had brief weird spell. Couldn't stand and unrespon

Hi everyone, sorry was not able to post an update. We took Stout to the vet on 28th. He was a lot perkier, he saw his favourite vet in the whole wide world who got licked to death  she gave him a good check over and took some blood, nothing showed up in those that she was worried about. They a...

Re: Stout had brief weird spell. Couldn't stand and unrespon

Hi Linny, that's what we thought it might be. He seems to be back to his normal self now. We are currently away from home. We called his normal vet to see what they said. We are going to take him tomorrow morning, the vets know him, so we would prefer to take him there. Obviously if it happens again...

Stout had brief weird spell. Couldn't stand and unresponsive

Hi, Stout has just had a weird spell. About 15 mins ago he was asleep then rolled over and tried to stand. His back legs were at an odd angle, not a natural sit at all, as if he was standing and then someone pushed him backwards and his legs gave way is the best way I can describe. Then he threw up ...

Re: Sshhh, keep it quiet. What's your dood getting for Christ

Stout is getting a chuck it hoop - we brought it at the start of December - Stout was there - he then sat there looking up at it - so I gave in and he has already had his present   , he normally enjoys the wrapping paper destruction more than the present  The birds have got seed sti...

Re: Gulping food

Stout waits sitting watching us do his food, normally drooling  , he gets told to wait, he is allowed his food on the command 'take it'. One of the first times he went to stay at granny's house she forgot the release command, she tried everything she could think of, he was apparently moving aw...

Re: Gulping food

I am with Bid on this one. I know stout has other food/stomach issues, but when he was gulping his kibble he would often throw it back up. Our vet recommended an anti gulp bowl. Obviously all pups are different and some may be able to cope with it. The wobbler also had the advantage that he was occu...

Re: Gulping food

We tried a lumpy bowl with stout, but in the end went for a Kong wobbler, they have the advantage that it keeps them occupied for longer, but they are quite noisy! He now eats raw food and seems to eat it slowly, not sure why. We tried all sorts with the nipping, he would sometimes nip your legs if ...

Re: Energetic pup

Hi and welcome. Stout was exactly the same when he was a pup, he can still be a bit mad when he is over tired now, the difference is he will then have a lazy day to make up for it! As others said we used to try to wear him out with training or games where he had to use his brain to wear him out (lik...

How long is a Doodle's tongue? Not long enough....

Hi, Stout has a teaspoon of honey a day to help his digestion and itchy ears. We'd nearly finished a jar so thought we'd let him lick it out. Unofrtunately although he managed to lick the sides of the jar really really well, his tongue could not reach the corners of the bottom of the 1lb honey jar. ...

Re: Caravaning with 3 children and a doodle

We have a caravan, and always take Stout. Stout loves going away in the caravan, he recognizes the place we store it and gets very excited when we arrive . We leave most of our 'stuff' in the caravan so don't have to take a huge amount unless we are going away for longer than a weekend, we also...

Fascinated by the 'keet bed

Three weeks ago we lost one of our little parakeets, Goldings  , as a breed they like living in groups so we got three young birds (Bramling, Topaz, and Minstrel - types of hops, yes Chris named them), to keep Fuggles company. We also read they like sleeping in what can only be described as a t...

Re: Go and see your Vet

Sorry to hear your little one has been poorly, I hope she is getting better. We spent a lot of time at the vet with stout when he was a pup, in fact I think he had his own seat. The answer was always the same; pro kolin and prescription food, the advice we received here was invaluable we did stop go...
