Re: Toying with raw

Sounds familiar. Stout has natural instinct - I think we worked out it was cheaper than natures menu, he sometimes has the rabbit natures menu. He has the country banquet turkey or turkey and tripe. He is ok with beef, but if he has it for too many meals it seems a bit rich for him. We have to avoid...

Re: Flatulent Boy! Advice Needed

Stout was a very parpy puppy, he was initially also on james wellbelove, then swapped to symply. Stout has ibd so is now on raw food and (touch wood - you know what is going to happen) very rarely farts now. Wd tried him on a dry food recently with the same ingredients as his raw food and the farts ...

Re: Poo

Aahh poor Bertie. Stout has had belly problems. He now has premixed raw food and doesnt seem to be able to eat any dry food. When his tum was bad he used to throw up a lot and do lots of runny poos. He now does three or so poos at the park in the morning and one in the evening. His poos are hard and...

Re: Ears

I like the idea of honey and have just offered Dude a spoonful....He DOESNT like it at all!! Very surprised cos he will eat anything!!! Stout sniffed the first lot of honey suspiciously, he wasn't convinced immediately! He now loves it, and every night at nine ish he does his 'honey bark' and...

Re: Ears

Stout gets sore ears in one more than the other with the occasional ear infection. The groomer plucks them but only if they are not looking inflamed. We clean them every couple of weeks with cleanaural. He has been getting a teaspoon of Chris honey and day for a year or so. When we read on tinternet...

Re: Toilet training

We never used puppy pads. We used to make a note of the times stout went to the loo to try to work out how often he went. You can then pre empt and take them outside before the next wee is due. Good luck!

Re: Stout is 6 today!!

Thanks everyone! So stouts birthday lasted all weekend (as birthdays in our house tend to! ). On Friday he evicted chris from his chair, and got a pass as it was his birthday - chris went to sit on the sofa. I picked up his birthday presents from his gran (a squeaky snake who keeps getting taken out...

Stout is 6 today!!

Our little fluff ball is 6 today!!! It has flown by. He is spending the day with his dad (I have to go to my mums house as she is having a little op :( ). There is a bone with his name on it (followed by a Zantac!!) then he is going shopping for his birthday presents tomorrow. I might try to make so...

Re: Water Bowls

We use Road refresher bowls for Stout - even if the get tipped over they don't spill - he used to be a pro at waterbowl paddling! We have now taken out the floating bit as (touch wood) he has got more sensible in his old age!

Re: Has anyone tried dog food so i know which one is right!!

Stout wasn't fussy but he went through a phase where we had to pick his food up, stir it around then put it back down to get him to eat it. Stout used to have nature diet (can't eat it now coz of his allergies  ), if you have a countrywide near you it nis cheaper than pets at home. Good luck i...

Re: Poor Coco!

Bless her little cotton socks. It is good that she is not in pain and is able to be her doodly self :D I am sure it is not the same, but I had a back op 6 years ago, and it was a long slow recovery and I know I wouldn't recommend it unless it was absolutely necessary. Fingers crossed she continues t...

Re: Should I be offended!?

Stout won't sleep on a dog bed. He usually sleeps under or by the side (against the fireplace) of our bed. If we put a bed under there he kicks it out. He has a crate at work with a bed in it which he moves to sleep on the plastic floor. The only time he ever slept on a bed was when he was poorly :c...
