Re: Remembering the Huggy Monster

Big hugs to you linny.

He definitely lived his all too short life to the full and left lots of memories. I also still chuckle at his shopping trip!

Re: What food do you feed your doodle?

It might be worth trying a lunchtime feed - especially if he has a sensitive belly If Stout has the 'grumbly tums' we split his normal two meals over four, it is sometime easier for him to cope with smaller more frequent feeds Re the storage while you are away we have that problem with Stouts raw fo...

Re: Pet insurance

Stout is insured with John Lewis. They are not the cheapest but were really good when he was really poorly. His vet bills were £6000 in the end, there were no problems with any claims. He has prescribed probiotics which are £80 a month which they cover (typical stout he can't have probiotic cheaper ...

Re: What food do you feed your doodle?

Stout is on raw too. He has IBD so it is the easiest way for us to know what he is eating. We feed him natural instinct which is a ready made complete mince. For whatever reason he cant eat dry food. Maybe there is something in the grain free food he is struggling with - we have to be careful as Sto...

Re: Pet friendly holidays?

We went to Dulverton in Somerset last year in our caravan. It isn't on the coast but not that far. The village was very dog friendly - Stout was allowed in all the pubs, cafes and restaurants, and there were lots of really nice walks from the village so we didn't drive much either.

Re: Kibble vs. wet food

Stout used to be on symply kibble, we also had to mix wet food in to get him to eat it! We started giving him just the wet food (naturesdiet) when he was about nine months without the kibble, which suited him a lot better and his runny tum all but disappeared, before eventually going over to raw foo...

Re: Puppy overheating? Worried

Stout has a very thick black fleece coat - we also keep him shorter in the summer (much prefer him longer but he gets far too hot) We have a cool dog coat for him that he wears in the summer during the day. Its seems a bit weird covering him to keep him cool - but they are like chamois leathers, you...

Re: Do you work full time?

We both do - Stout goes to work with Chris - but is often by himself most of the day even then (having decided he wont go in the drey van!). His routine is - wake up at 8 wanting breakfast when Chris gets up, he often comes back to bed until I get up at 8:30 ish (although after a few snoozes it is m...

Re: 14 week old - reassurance needed!

Stout was a total nightmare as a puppy. We used to go to the pub after puppy school, the only time he was well behaved was when she asked for a dog that would definitely pull/jump up etc, just to make sure he showed us up. He used to be bad on walks when he got tired. One day it took me an hour to d...

Happy belated birthday Ziggy!

Stout says - I think my hoomans really like it when I play with my squeaky toys when they are trying to watch telly (rather than pay me attention), especially when it set the parrots off! Have fun squeaking!
