Re: Norfolk Meets ?

Hi All, Shall we go for a meet up on Sunday 15th May at 11am at Bawsey Pits then? I've not been there before so I don't know the walk/s or anything but I'm sure it will be fun! Look forward to seeing people (and dogs of course!) there and being able to put faces to the names on line. Sally and Effie

Re: Norfolk Meets ?

Hi Lorrie, I was wondering the same thing! I'm just down the road from you in Weasenham and I know they are often organised to meet at Bawsey Pits near Kings Lynn - only 10 miles or so from here. I've not managed to go to one of these meets as Effie was really bad at travelling in the car but she is...

Re: First season and spaying?

Hi there, I was talking to a vet nurse the other day and she said at her vets they advise spaying 3 months after first season. She said it was to avoid urinary problems. My own vets seem to like to do it at 6 months but I don't think all doods are fully grown up by then. At least if they've had thei...

Re: labradoodles coat

I have an F1b too and she has soft poodle curls on top of her head, 'fluff' all over her body,(I think it's supposed to be 'fleece' but its very fluffy and matts like mad) and yet underneath she's quite wirey haired with softer bits mixed in  She is now 9 months old and I see no sign of an adu...

Re: Stout's new pad!

OMG! How amazing! I used to live in Newbury and used to go to Donnington Castle SO often... What a lovely surprise to see it on this website. Brought back some very happy memories.. Sunday walks up there with my dad and brother - mum didn't like walking much - and then in the 6th form, we would ofte...

Re: In need of some urgent advice

Hi Gill, DON'T BE INTIMIDATED BY THESE PEOPLE! Don't answer the phone, don't answer the door. It is your dog!! I feel so sorry for you. It shouldn't be like this - it should be a lovely time with your new puppy. I don't think I'd be willing or able to give him back....poor thing. :( Please keep us u...

Re: In need of some urgent advice

Hi Gill, Just thought I'd put my two penn'th in... I think I would not bother with the breeder anymore. It's your dog now and I know you're going to do the best for him from the way you are worrying about the situation. The problem with the undescended testicle can easily be sorted (if it even turns...

Re: Hi Everyone

I like Poggy! I think it's a bit different, a bit quirky... It will probably get shortened to 'Pogs' before long anyway. :D I quite like Pogo too as Doodles are bouncy dogs and it goes with their personality! Someone I knew named their dogs after their local villages. Funnily enough this only seems ...

Re: Les Poochs

Oh, I forgot to mention the scissors for matts! I bought a special round ended pair for cutting baby's fingernails from Tescos baby department for about £1.50. Really good if you're worried about prodding your dog with the end of ordinary scissors. They are excellent for snipping out matts! Been wor...

Re: Les Poochs

Hi there, I've got the green Les Poochs brush and it seems to work really well for a fleece coat. I bought the single one thinking it would be better to tackle the matts gently - which it does do - but for every day maintenance I think the double one would have been a good idea. However, we have not...

Re: Poorly Molly :-(

Hope Molly is feeling better this morning?

Effie has Milbemax and has had no problems in the 2 doses she's had of it. It looks like a dog treat and goes down the same way :D I get it from the vets but I've heard various wormers are much cheaper on line provided you know what you want.

Re: Effie eating compost heap!! Eurgghh!!

Thanks for all your comments. At least I feel I've not much to worry about now and my mind is at rest. Hopefully she'll just get bored of it eventually and fed up with being washed every time! Thanks also to Nat, Lynne and Jacob re Macs and photos. I'll have a bash later and see how I get on. I'm no...

Effie eating compost heap!! Eurgghh!!

Hello All, Effie has taken to eating the slimey, smelly compost heap! She absolutely stinks! Her beard looks and smells disgusting when she comes in after a 'snack' and I have to wash it and her front paws as she obviously has a little dig around to see what she can find in there! It's mainly really...

Re: Looking for a good collar

I'm also on the lookout for a nice collar and have found some really nice ones on the Not On The High Street website. Just put in 'dog collars' in the search bit and up they all pop! If you then click on a collar it takes you to the producer who may do different styles and other dog related items. A...
