Re: Using a bitch with an umbilical hernia for breeding
They're not always genetic, sometimes they are caused by mum being over enthusiastic and chewing the cord too short but do you know enough about her background/birth or are you still I'm touch with her breeder to find out whether this is a genetic defect that could be passed on? I personally wouldn'...

Re: Feeding raw? Read this paper!
DEFRA regulate the production of raw pet food in the UK, here's what they have to say here http://www.defra.gov.uk/ahvla-en/disease-control/abp/food-feed-businesses/pet-food-manufactures/. I think the paper outlines the high standards expected of raw food suppliers in the UK and also highlights the ...

Re: Feeding raw? Read this paper!
I was going to say similar to Bid. If you Google salmonella and dog food you will get pages of big brand recalls. As far as I can see feeding kibble is just as risky.

Re: Which breeders dont charge £1000+ for minatures??
In addition to hip scores anyone looking for a Cockerpoo should also be looking for parents to be PRA tested, BVA eye tested and preferrably also be tested for FN.

Re: Breeding
There is a breeders' section in the forum but I think I may have been one of the last people to post in it nearly two years ago. Unfortunately, when I did post on it there was a fuss made by a few on the forum as the thread appears in amongst all the other active convos but if you do not have permis...

Re: Advice needed
My understanding of the SA test is that it can only determine if the dog tested has SA at the moment, it doesn't determine if the dog will develop SA or pass SA on to it's offspring (although I am perfectly happy to be corrected if I am wrong here). Ideally testing for vWB (a blood clotting disorder...

Re: Question for ASD owners
I have three doodles and I have to say my ASD has a very easy coat, non shedding, she's fleece but it's a very loose fleece, under normal circumstances all she needs is a comb through once a week but some have more challenging coats. When her coat is longer she does bring home all the muck of the da...

Re: Having to rehome my 2 beloved Doodles
So sorry to hear this, have you contacted the breeder/s of your dogs as they should be able to assist you with rehoming, if not the Labradoodle Trust will be able to help you.

Re: Breeding a litter with Stella
Don't like to declare a vet as wrong but I believe your vet to be very wrong, as far as I understand it there is no upper limit to health testing and if you wish to breed these tests are essential. It also concerns me that you do not know your dog's heritage, would you be confident that you were not...
