On an earlier tread some of you lovely people suggested short break dog friendly properties for rent. Well i'm pleased to say we are all booked and thanks again thanks for the suggestions. We are taking a Monday to Friday break in Polperro, Cornwall in mid March. Just need to work on poor Marmites car sickness. It is improving slightly as she gets older - We can now make 5 miles before she's ill Any Doodles available for a romp on the beach?

Gosh dont they change us we are booking all our holidays around Meg this year instead of 2 weeks in the sun we will be taking as many long weekends as we can in our tent - so we will be joining caravan and camping club this year. Shame we cant be in Polperro in March but have a great time

Polperro is about an hour and a half away from the Devon Diehards' usual meet ups. If you are planning to come down the A38 on the Monday and want a Doodle break, then perhaps we could all meet up at Stover Country Park (just off it near Trago Mills) not far from Linny, and have a bounce. An alternative could be if you plan a meandering route back on the Friday, coming along the coast road from Plymouth, maybe stopping for lunch in Dartmouth , and a bounce with us in Brixham afterwards, before heading back, via Newton Abbott, on the A38 again. Otherwise it means a trek back and forth from Polperro to get back into Devon again . Always some of us up for a bounce but be warned, the weather is not usually on our side

We love Polperro although haven't been with Dood in tow yet. I am hoping we can go in the summer. We have stayed just outside St Austell in a small static park which is lovely and they do take dogs. Places to visit if you have the time are Heligan Gardens which is brilliant (ok for you in March but I've just discovered only take dogs form Oct to April ) and also Mevagissey which is a pretty town. Have a lovely time.

Mrs Admin Excellent... How exciting... It would be wonderful to meet up with you and Linny (and any other diehards available) on Monday 15th March at Stover en route to Polperro. Marmite will have a ball, shes only ever met one other Doodle before Would 11.30am be a good time to meet? Tracy x

Thanks Lynne - The gardens look a lovely place to visit - i'll put it on the list just below all the dog friendly pubs i'm researching.. Mummy Buck - Know what you mean but my other half won't camp! I'm looking at another holiday cottage for late September. The prices in the summer are frankly not managable. Katherine - We might make it down into deepest Cornwall, if we do I shall be sure to let you know. Hows Rufus now, you were off to the vets for a check up when I last caught up.

Please do, Tracy and let me know if you need any local information......Fingers crossed, Rufus seems fine now, thank you. I have delayed going to see my Dad though as I don't want to be away from home just in case..... (Rufus can't accompany me as Dad is 91 and very fragile now) Katherine

PS How do you do that thing where you put part of someone's message above your reply? Just did copy and paste, but that didn;t look right.

I highlighted the text I wanted to quote and then clicked quote and it just quoted the highlighted section. I guess either method works and you just select the way that means less work. I only wanted a line out of a long posting so it was easier to lighlight the line rather than delete the rest of the post.
Always looking for the shortcut, that's me!
