How big is your LabraDoodle, weight/height.

Post by Bean » 18 Dec 2006, 12:30

Hi, Bean had her 12 week vaccination today, she now weighs a hefty 12.2kg, could barely carry her, shes the size of a small horse. The vet said she was going to be a very big girl.

So what is the average weight of everyones Doodles then? My husband is terrified we have got ourselves a monster so I thought it would be good to see what size and weight the standards get to, just to frighten him a bit more, hahahahaha.

:D :D :D :D

Hi Kate, it really depends on her parents and grandparents but it is possible for her to reach 26ins high and around 35-40KG allot of people say they are Labrador size and some of them are but many of them are far bigger, so you may have a pony on your hands after all! Don’t tell your hubby and he will get used to her size gradually. :D

As Gunner has the same dad as Bean, this may give an indication, The Guns last weighed in at 28kgs in October at 13 months old and 27 ins tall, he may increase a little more yet. The bigger the better.

Wow 27ins at only 13 months so he still has his filling out to do yet! Maybe I just get my daughters a standard Labradoodle to ride instead of a pony! It will certainly be allot cheaper!

Sounds about right, I always wanted a bigger dog, guess I got one!

Our friends have had a massive male Great Dane and now have a female blue dane so we are used to being around humungous dogs, will be nice to be able to take Bean around when shes a bit bigger to play as we were never able to take our Bichon or Woody around, they just got squashed!!!

Lisa, we are always telling our 10yr old off as he pretends Gunner is a horse
Forgot to mention Kate, our little Buffy (no relation to Gunner) is a dainty girl she weighed 11kilos just 2 weeks ago at 4 1/2 months old, but she is tall almost 17 ins, with a more Poodle like body.
I think Gunner's side are more Labrador like and i guess some can take after the Poodle side. :D
Either way they are all beautiful :D :D

You sure Gunners not a Shetland Pony?

Miss R is all legs at the mo - not sure of her weight but measures 20" to her front shoulder ( not very technical I know  ). She seems to look leggy for about 3 weks, then her bot looks very labrador( bit wide across the beam  - then a wee growth spurt and she's back to all legs again!

Hi

Dont worry Kate - we have the horse of the litter, we weighed Cassie last night and she is a wapping 14.0 kilos - didnt do a height measurement - will have to let you know.

I cannot believe the rate she is growing, the vet was suprised when we took her at 9 weeks. She is due for her booster injection on the 23rd (hubby will have to carry her in, I have a dodgy back ha ha.....then counting down the days till we can take her out, feels like being housebound at the moment.

The fur on her back is getting very wavy - cant wait to see how curly she gets.

Bernice

Hi Bernie, 14!!!! thats big. ooooh, I think I know which pup you got. There was one bigger pup in the litter of girls, but Bean won our heart, I wonder if you have the same girl. They were all so cute.

Our vet was the same, a bit surprised at her size at 8 weeks and was a bit flabbergasted this morning when he saw how much she'd grown, I could hear him at the back of the office telling the others how much she weighed!! Yes Bean has a big ridge of curly fur all down her back and has a cute corkscrew curl growing on the end of her tail, plus the beard is really coming in now. I wonder where all the other puppies ended up, such a shame that out of 11 there are only Bean and Cassie 'in touch' so to speak.....
