When your dog and your life come together beautifully!

Post by Smyla » 20 Mar 2009, 00:39

My Dad always said that the right dog was one that lived your life with you, and after today's adventure, I now understand what he meant.

Fraggle, our 7 month old Dood spent the day sailing around the Solent; he careered down the pontoon at a thunderous pace, bounced onto the RIB with great enthusiasm, bounded onto the sailing yacht and hopped into the dinghy with great gusto!!! He was an absolute blast and the star of the day!

He even went for a swim after lunch...

Here's a couple of pictures....

How great. We are first time dog owners and I am so scared of Holly getting into any trouble or loosing her I keep her on a tight rein. Do you think I just need to relax and be brave once in a while. I walk her by a river but am worried what sorts of difficulties she would get into if I let her off.

What a wonderful way to spend the day! Is that Keyhaven by any chance? My brother has a boat there - if you see a nutter with a small boy, a cocker and a mini poodle on a boat - that'll be him

Yeah, it was Keyhaven out on Hurst spit. We sailed the boats from Lymington where we live and had a picnic on the beach. It's so beautiful there, we didn't see a soul the whole time. Fraggle absolutely adores the shingle, he runs around like a looney the whole time.

Beautiful pictures, made me very jealous as we don't have time to sail. Many years ago before we moved here we would come up sailing on the broads sleeping in a van. We had a cocker spaniel who would jump onto the bank on one tack and back on when he felt like it.
