Recommended Breeders

Post by COGS1001 » 05 Feb 2007, 11:16

Hope I'm in the right forum for this.

I am looking to purchase a doodle - I'm living near Cardiff, South Wales (UK).

I just wondered if anyone could recommend a breeder to me. I don't mind travelling to buy one.

I've read so much about doodles so I thought I'd ask those who have been through the process.

Thanks so much to anyone who replies.

Hi Claire - have you looked at the "Puppy finder" section of this forum ? Thats a good place to start.

Good luck.

Hi Claire,

We got ours from Wentwood Labradoodles, and cannot recommend them highly enough.

Jackie, who runs it is a lovely lady, and is very helpful and understanding about what you want. They are also very local to you, so you could give her a call to arrange to pop over to her to have a chat and meet her dogs (thats what we did).

Hope this helps, please keep us all informed as to how you get on, and hope to see you at the Bristol Doodle meets soon!

If you go into puppy finder and put in you post code it will come up with breeder's near to yourself.
Lisa Carson is near Cardiff. she has been breeding Labradoodles for some time.

Thank you for your replies. I think I have already emailed Lisa Carson, but will definitely check out Wentwood. Its nice to have a recommendation from someone who has experienced a breeder.

Can't wait to go and see some puppies. :D

We have a doodle from CAROL SHAW in county Durham , her details are on this site , We are thrilled with Maizee , and really recommend Carol as she has been breeding doodles for a few years ( and Labs and poodles).

I know she has pups at the moment .

Good Luck with the search

Hi there,

I can also recommend Lisa Carson in Cardiff, she is very experienced and reliable, she has helped me out agreat deal and has offered me some very good advice and information over the past year. Well recommended and from what I believe she is very popular worldwide.

where ever you go make sure you see the pup with its mum and that she is kept in nice clean surrounding and that the people are easy about letting you see every thing, but I must admit out the above breeders the only one I would buy from is Carol Shaw :D

I could be wrong here - apologies if I am - but I thought I read somewhere on here that Claire has now got a black doodle bitch pup from Lisa Carson. :D

Hi Guys

Just to confirm, I have got a black pup - Lola from Lisa Carson. I've had her just over a week and she's the most beautiful little pup. I can't believe how intelligent these little doodles are. She house trained herself within two days and has already learned to sit. Bless her!

I found Lisa to be an excellent breeder. I met Lola's mum and dad whilst I was there, plus the rest of the litter. They were kept in the house and we spend well over an hour with the pups and the mum before making a final decision. She has also helped me out with queries that I've had since bringing Lola home.

I have no complaints and could recommend her.

Hi Claire. Congatulations :D !!! Hope you have hours of fun with Lola.
Doodles are a fantastic breed and far too clever!
I'm sure you'll get lots of help and advice on this site if you need it.
It's great to hear that Lolas breeder is so helpfull. We still speak too and meet up with the breeder we got our choc doodle Meggie from.
