Naming my doodle?

Post by Andrews » 02 Mar 2010, 19:32

Hi

I was wondering if you could give me some idea's to name my doodle so far we have:
Daisy
Libi
Coco
cadbury

I'm not taken by any of them yet. My puppy is a chocolate coloured female ASD doodle.

I havent worked out how to add pictures yet. :?:
Lots of ideas please.

you'll probably find that whatever name you give, she'll end up being called, Monkey, Scamp, Rat-Bag and any other words that are deemed worthy!

You'll know when you get pup what she is!

We spent days arguing before we settled for Rufus :)

Here is a link re female dog names which might give you a few ideas

http://pets.htmlplanet.com/girl-dog-names.html

I think it's true that sometimes the name comes to you when you observe the puppy.

Suchard do a dark chocolate called Velma, I always thought that would make a good name (in the days when I yearned for a cow that was what I wanted to call it). Whatever you choose it is a good idea to think what it might get shortened to, and how happy you are shouting it in public at the top of your voice.

I love the name Eliza , that's what I would have chosen for Ambrose had he been a girl.
(reminds me of the lovely Audrey Hepburn and the character Eliza Doolittle she portrayed in My Fair Lady)
If a Dood were to live up to her name she would have to be absolutely beautiful 8)
and would be know as Eliza Doodle

I like Libby - that would have been my choice if we'd had a girl.

There are probably lots of choccy doodles called Coco and Daisy is quite a popular name too.

How about an old fashioned name like Peggy, Dottie, Maisie, Flora........................

KateW is right about a name coming to you when you spend time with her - we had a name picked out for Teddy but then when we met him it didn't suit him and Teddy did......

So exciting picking names - we just got a second dog from the Trust and decided to rename him as he shared the same name as one of our cats, it was great fun choosing :D

Look forward to lots of pics and the final decision when you get her !

I know EXACTLY what you are going thru - we had the same probelm about 8 weeks ago when we got Bailey. Until we brought her home she was going to be called Becks to go with Stella (no drink problem here - honest!!) but once we got her home it didn't 'feel' right, so the thinking caps went on for two days and then my son came up with Bailey because that's the colour she is - the rest is history :D
You'll probably come up with the perfect name once your pup is home with you - good luck

All great suggestions, if we had had a girl I wanted to call her Maggie-don't know if I would have won on the final vote-and I liked Milly as well. Have fun choosing and whatever name you decide on will be perfect for her.
