I keep reading about all these doodles that share their owners bedroom and I have to admit that I am a little jealous (hubby says 'NO!!!' ) but I am intrigued how you all can get away with 'jiggy time ' without a doodle wanting to get involved!!! Knowing how my doodle is every time we have a cuddle or kiss he is in between us wanting some loving aswell!

Is this an alternative to 'not tonight darling I have a headache!' to 'not tonight darling I have a doodle watching!!!!'.

We just pick the cat up and shut him outside the room. Not easy for the first couple of times but Alfie would probably get used to it - after all, being in your room at all will be new so he'll quickly get accustomed to being banned for 10 minutes, or 2 hours... whatever floats your boat

Or, make your life easier - just let him sleep in Charlies bed!!

OK, here goes....

It takes practice.
Bruno tried to get involved, but after about 6 months of us pushing him off the bed a few times, it became a normality and now when hubby and I get cuddling, he gets up, gives a 'humph' (doggy talk for "oh god, not again, how's a dog supposed to get some shut eye around here?") and goes downstairs to sleep by the front door.

Whoever said my dog wasn't well trained eh?

When did this forum start going off on topics like this?! First its a post about Fifty Shades, and now this...! Lol!

Anyway - to answer the question.. Holly soon got the message she wasn't welcome by lots of 'off' and 'in your bed' commands. Just had to push her away lots and she soon got the message. I suppose if that really isn't working then you could always do a 'on your bed' command and put a lead on the dog wrapped around a bedstead leg or something so that they can't disobey your command and get off their bed whenever they feel like getting out of bed again to get involved with your game....!!
