Have you tried rubbing a little oil on Betsy's legs before giong out in the snow ?
It doesn't stop the snow-balling completely but does help a lot.

No, she started off jet black, got a chocolate tinge and has recently turned silver/black

Yes, I actually gave her a clip today, so this should help reduce mud/snow/ice attachment!! But I will definatley put something on her legs for our next walk!!
