advice needed, sad story needs happy ending!

Post by racholiandpoppy » 05 Jun 2013, 16:15

Hi there,

I wonder if anyone could advise?

My fiancee's brother is recovering from 2 cancer operations. He is in his 30s with a loving wife and a 3 year old (4 in aug) little girl.

They always wanted a big family, but are now unable to have more children. For christmas the little girl wanted a little brother. :( she adores playing with all the family dogs.

They always planned to get a dog, but are now desperate for one. I think it would help them in so many ways. It is perfect timing as both have taken time off work to recover, and quite frankly, need something positive to focus on.

They can't afford to spend money purchacing the dog. We have rang round shelters but they have no puppies and no older dogs to place with a young child. I've searched pets for homes and cannot find suitable, all seem so expensive or with problems.

They don't really mind which breed. I know they love spaniels and aren't too keen on staffs or muscle dogs.

Can anyone help? They would offer a fantastically wonderful home.

Thanks for reading!
Rach

Poor chap :( . A dog could make a huge difference to them. What part of the country are they in?

Dog rescue centre near me always has a lot of dogs [too many staffies sadly but also many others]. They are near to Jcn 26 M1, North Nottm so not far away.

Hi all,

Thanks for all the help! I'm keeping a keen eye out for the perfect fit. Happily his last op was a success!

They have visited a couple but not quite right yet, as, as you can imagine, with a three year old and a daddy in recovery, they are being picky to ensure everything goes right, and they and pup will be the happiest possible!

We're all buzzing from his last appointment, but still dreading the next - just incase they missed something.

Thanks again

Xxxx
