Fab weekend at doodlefest

pixie Jazz and I (not to mention hubby and aunty pat) have had a brilliant weekend at doodlefest. The weather was really kind to us and Pam and Barb's organisation skills made for a marvelous weekend of fun and frivolities !!
It was an absolute joy just to sit outside the caravan and have pixie and jazz charge round with a gang of doodles and not a growl or grump amongst them - just fast running legs and big pink-tongued smiley faces.
The quiz was fun and it was amazing how so many hoomans and doodles could squash into the marquee and all the dogs coped well with the thunder storm (my two snored throughout)
A sunny and warm saturday and the show was a great success - lots of dogs and people with a common passion - our doods. A banging dsco to follow with doods and hoomans on the dance floor - where else would you see that ??
The cherry on the cake was pixie coming first in the F1 bitch class show competition - not forgetting a second in the fun scurry - clever girl. Little Jazz just had the best fun playing with any other doodle she came across and just ran and played to her hearts content.

I would LOVE to read your post but there is a stupid advert going through the right side of it .... How to I get rid of it. It does this all the time on my iPad (amazon book advert extending down to another advert)

We had a great time but there are some ball thieves out there Fozzie lost both his squeaky large tennis balls within 2 hours of arriving!!

It was the most relaxed camping that we have done with the doods - they just ran and ran and we had to force them to rest every now and again by putting them in the trailer with us.

I know there were lots of people from here at DF but we didn't find many to talk to - of course we often don't know the names of people here - only their user name and the name of their dog!! I will try harder next year!!

We will definitely go again - the dogs had the time of their lives and it was fantastic socialisation for them. The only problem that we may have now is that they EXPECT any passing two-legger to give them a stroke and tell them how pretty they are. We noticed in the services on the way home how different they were with strange people!

Roll on DF 2014, we can't wait!

A couple of people have mentioned "Ghostery" as the thing to use. I downloaded it but couldn't work out what to do with it -doh!!! You access the site from within the ghostery app and it seems to stop the vast majority of the adverts.

The 'fest was a huge success, loads of people and everyone seemed happy. Well done to all the organisers, and all the competitors.

On the subject of not being able to read posts because of adverts, if you are reading on something with a copy and paste facility, you can highlight and copy the post and paste it into a text reader then it will all be visible.

Probably not the most efficient way of getting round adverts but I click on 'print view' tab above the original post and it just shows the text in full.

We had a lovely weekend ,dexter came 4th in the fancydress ,he also came running back with a dogs cow hoof in hes mouth,i took it back and about 10 mins later came back with it again,he was gaurding the van a bit and kept wondering off to other campers tents and vans very noisy,but all in all great weekend.

pixie's mum - I wondered if it was your Pixie they announced for the scurry prizes...
suebedo - poor Fozzie, wish I'd known, I could've donated a ball before we left on Saturday! You're right about not being able to recognise people from the forum. Too late, we realised that the nametags on lanyards some people were wearing were available on the LD Trust table - I thought they were just for volunteers.

Well done! What a clever girl!

Ghostery is fab on an iPhone/pod/pad. Don't know about other pads/phones. On a normal computer it's own popup boxes are as bad as adds. I will try Liz's Adblock for that.
You open it search for the forum then bookmark it and when you want to come on you go through the app and use the bookmark to find it.

If a lot of us went next year is there not a sort of meeting place that the forum people could meet at - so we could say hello at a certain time? Or is it not like that

Dee - camp, it's fantastic on the field and the dogs had a great time. Arranging to meet up is a great idea. We should have walked around the field a bit more but tended to stick with our nearest neighbours which is where the dogs gravitated too.
